    After David told me a portal had opened in the middle of town from the Nether, I ran over to the nearest window to look. The only thing I could see were people running around wildly. There was smoke by the entrance of the village.

    Then the crowd parted for a moment and I saw it. A portal, glimmering in the middle of the village square. Wither skeletons were coming out of it and taking off to run around the village. They pushed through the crowd. I frowned.

    Behind me, Alex was panicking. David was looking around the room for something.

    What are we going to do? What are we going to do? Alex repeated. So many of them! How are they opening portals? I thought they weren’t supposed to do that.

    So much for this being a fantastic adventure, I joked to my panicking friend.

    He barely heard me. He was back looking out one of the other windows. David finally pulled something out of a chest and I saw it was the sword he had in the jungle.

    Aren’t you grounded? I asked.

    "My aunt is out there somewhere. Grounded or not, I have to make sure she’s okay. She’s been taking care of
