    Day 19

I didn’t notice the cold anymore.

Instead, I was feeling confident that I was dreaming. In my dream, I was warm and bundled up in a bunch of blankets. Beth was giving me soup. She was talking but the words didn’t make any sense. It sounded like gibberish but she was growing annoyed with me for not understanding what she was saying.

Behind her, out of the darkness, I could see two white eyes glowing. It was Herobrine. I had to warn her – had to warn everyone – I couldn’t stay here –

My eyes fluttered open. The storm swirled around me. Snow covered my body. My teeth were chattering. I felt exhausted. Maybe going back to sleep was a good idea…

No, I couldn’t let this storm take me. Where was David? A storm…something about storms and Herobrine – my brain felt sluggish from the cold as if all my thoughts were frozen too.

I forced myself to sit up. Storms! Herobrine could create storms. Or storms were linked to him? Something like that. I was having a hard time remembering. But if we were in the middle of a storm then it meant that we were close to something that is associated with him.

I could feel a growing heat against my back. At first, I thought I was imagining it but it just grew warmer. Shivering, I reached around for my backpack and yanked it off me. I couldn’t see David anywhere in this blanket of snow. Maybe it was wishful thinking that there was something warm in my backpack.

I rummaged around blindly until my hands curled around something near the bottom. It was almost hot to the touch. Curiously, I yanked it out and found myself staring at the bracelet that Jacob had given to us.

It was the only tie to Herobrine’s old life that I had – and it was so warm that it had to be fueled by something. Surprised, I looked around. Why was it hot?

Could it be connected to the ruins? For the first time since this terrible storm started, I felt a flicker of hope. This bracelet had to be responding to something. Clutching it, I forced myself to get to my feet. I had to find David and the ruins. I couldn’t explain why yet but this bracelet was going to be the key.

I stumbled through the snow and paid attention to the way the bracelet reacted. Sometimes it grew hotter depending on my direction. I decided to use it as a guide. As the blizzard grew in strength and it became almost impossible to walk, I trudged forward.

But I didn’t have a lot of strength
