POP, FIZZ, CRASH!

Feeling my eyes getting heavier, the dance floor was the last place that I wanted to be.

In fact, even getting to Featherstone Castle for my friend’s 70th birthday in December 2019 took some persuading in the first place.

Suffering from ME for the majority of my life, as well as being a full-time career for my son Leonardo, now 24, and caring for my mum, Angela, I wasn’t much of a partygoer.

In my 50s I wasn’t bothered by all the noise and having to stay up late.

Plus, Christmas was just around the corner.

Even though it wasn’t really my bag, when the opportunity came to go to Featherstone Castle alongside my friends, I knew that Leonardo would enjoy coming along, too.

At least it meant that we were out of the house and had something to do –
