About this ebook

WHY LIE? - the Bible doesn't teach that! Are you tired of lies, and false manipulative teachings that are spread within our churches, especially in small local churches? With that said I present to you not what I believe but what the Bible says and teaches.
Who am I? I am no one.

I have been a Sunday school teacher, a Preacher, a youth Pastor, a Deacon, an Elder of the church - a musician, and the unofficial Pastor of a small church who had difficulties with a rogue Pastor. By this, I mean to say that I have seen a lot, done a lot, and experienced much and I am not surprised by the lies.
Here looking to find a scathing contemptuous "tell-all" book about the church and God's people – you will not find it here. What I will present to you is a few insightful truths about what many teach from the pulpit compared to what I have found to be in the Bible. I will speak about how:

Ignorance is used to keep God's people in bondage, like slaves.

Why knowledge can set you free if you allow it.
Again, let me make myself clear – as clear as I can be: I am a Bible-thumping, God-fearing, Holy Roller – I believe the word of God and I only challenge the teachings of those who would seek to pervert it for their own personal gain or ego. If you are truly interested in what I have to say, in what I want to share – please, read on. Because God has an order to things and many are taking advantage of good honest sincere people who want to, need to, and wholeheartedly believe in God.

    Introduction

Stop lying – the bible does not teach that!

You have to ask yourself this first – before you make any rash judgments or any crude remarks, who is speaking? Any professor, instructor or teacher worth their salt will teach you to read and to understand the text by understanding the context in which it is written.

Context: the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed.

The reason I wrote this book is because I am tired of the many lies, false and manipulative teachings that continues to be disseminated within our churches, especially in small local churches.

With that said I present to you not what I believe but what the Bible says and teaches.

    Who am I?

    I am no one.

I am simply an individual who grew up in the Catholic Church, at the age of 17 converted to Pentecost and through the years I have been a Sunday school teacher, a Preacher, a youth Pastor, a Deacon, an Elder of the church, a musician and I even was the unofficial Pastor of a small church who had difficulties with a rogue Pastor.

By this I mean to say that I have seen a lot, done a lot, experienced much and I am not surprised by the lies, deceits, and false teachings many present to the body of Christ.

If you are here looking to find a scathing contemptuous tells-all book about the church and God’s people – you will not find it here. What I will present to you is a few insightful truths about what many teach from the pulpit compared to what I have found to be in the Bible. I will speak about how ignorance is used to keep Gods people in bondage, like slaves and why knowledge can set you free if you allow it.

Again, let me make myself clear – as clear as I can possibly be: I am a Bible thumping, God fearing, Holy Roller – I believe the word of God and I only challenge the teachings of those who would seek to pervert it for their own personal gain or ego.

If you are truly interested in what I have to say, in what I want to share – please, read on.

Because God has an order to things and many are taking advantage of good honest sincere people who want to, need to and whole heartedly believe in God.

Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." (KJV)

    Who’s on first, what’s on second ...

The true order of things should be, not as the masses portray them to be. Which one is it: God, country then church – or is there a better way, is there a different order to how things in our lives should be prioritized?

Who's on First? by: Abbott and Costello

One of the most famous baseball comedy acts to ever take place was the following humorous exchange between Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. The words alone cannot do it justice, but it is still quite funny to read. The skit was originally done on the radio live (each & every time) until the legendary duo later included it on The Naughty Nineties compilation.

The general premise behind the exchange has Costello, a peanut vendor named Sebastion Dinwiddle, talking to Abbott who is Dexter Broadhurt, the manager of the mythical St. Louis Wolves. However, before Costello can get behind the plate, Abbott wants to make sure he knows everyone's name on the team... that is when the insanity and the laughter ensues.

Suffice it to say, Abbott and Costello was even before my time, but as a kid I spent many a summers watching reruns (of which I did not know were reruns) of very funny shows, one of my favorites was Abbott and Costello. I especially loved the skit about Who’s on first, what’s on second and I don’t know is on third it was simply one of the funniest things I had ever heard.

While the premise of the joke is that even when knowing the facts – the presentation or the understanding can still cause confusion, albeit it was a manufactured confusion for the purpose of humor.

With that said we have to ask ourselves: when it comes to God – what is the order of things?

This is to say; what is the order we should have in our lives when it comes to God. Who is on first? Who is on second and who is on third? The believer, the Christian – the reasonable person who believes in God has no problem answering the first part of this question: God is on first.

Any Christian, any person that believes in God will usually always answer this question with the answer: God is first in my life. Anyone who answers differently – my suggestion would be, to them read your Bible and for you to be very weary of them.

But then comes the problematical part of the question: who is second and third and so forth?

This is where I find that many take a step away from the Bible and supplant their own beliefs or opinions. For instance I have heard the following:

First, God should be first in your life, then the church is second and then the desire to win souls should be third and so forth.

I have also heard: God first, church second and then family.

Why do I bring this up and why would I concern myself with this order of prioritizing? I do this because many have suffered loss, endured unnecessary hardships and have had families destroyed because someone took the principal order God created and twisted it to meet their needs – with good intentions or not, it was wrong to do so.

I believe God’s respective order of priority should be as follows:

First and foremost God, second ME, then family, followed by church, then the needs of the world.

Now I know and I did it with purpose that ME is capitalized and may be an improper grammatical thing to do (as many will point it out) But I did so for two reasons: 1. The moment people see ME in second place on my list of priorities they will think – that this is a selfish mentality. They will climb up onto their soap box and claim that it is wrong, it is selfish and therefore a sin to prioritize your life in such a way – How dare I be so selfish!  2. The second reason I capitalized the word ME was to insure that I get your attention – I want it to be clear, I meant it when I said ME meaning you the individual should be second on the list of priorities in your life (the order of things)

1 Corinthians 14:40 - Let all things be done decently and in order.

God has an order and in that order God created man, then he said man is alone and needs a partner, a helpmate – so woman was created. And throughout all scripture God places emphases on the individual to put an order that follows this: God first because
