About this ebook
I wrote my first poem when I was in the third grade, titled "My home". It was printed in the local newspaper. I honed in my ability to express myself and over the next 25 years would write poems. These poems are ones that are special to me and most of them were written after a life event. I have experienced so many emotions and pain and loss over the years. These poems are another way to share my story.

The Thoughts of a Quiet Person
Day by day I hear people say,
You are too shy, where’s your high?
Please talk more, you look so bored. Just open up a little bit. It will be hard but don’t you quit.
I get mad and oh so sad.
I like me the way I am, why can’t people understand?
I’ll become open when you stop pokin.
It’s up to me but I will consider your plea.
I know we are friends til the very end,
So please try to see the quiet person in me.

Can You?
Can you see me crying now? From all the pain and hurt inside.
Can you hear me screaming now? Don’t you see the fear and doubt you created in me.
Can you feel my broken heart? Still in pieces from being torn apart.
My tongue is bitter as my mouth proclaimed..I hate you for what you have done to me.
Can you see me crying now? The tears I shed, feeling completely angered
