She Who Dreams - Jamie Gallant

    is.

    THANKFUL FOR YOU

Thank you, mom, for all the hugs you gave.

Especially when I was sad or didn’t behave.

You took on the role of both father and mother.

You are a rare breed, and there is no other.

There were days you said that it felt like hell.

Yet bravery and strength fit you all so well.

I loved story time and I remembered it the most.

I would say, Again and again, because you were such a great host.

You treated story time like it was the final hour.

You taught me to never be a princess who needed saving from a tower.

Instead you taught me to be a queen.

To lead by example, without causing a scene.

You instilled great values in me more than you know.

That’s why I stayed out of trouble and kept it low.

I am always learning all there is to know from you.

Especially when it comes to what skirt goes with what shoe.

I have always been your stubborn little diva.

I wish I got the chance to meet Grandma Eva.

I love hearing stories from when you were my age.

You loved to dance like you belonged onstage.

Though I’m most thankful for your selflessness.

You are a powerful woman, so you were made for this.

I know it’s not easy being a mother, especially as we get older.

But my job is to keep you warm as the world gets colder.

Radiate love that’s all we can do.

Thank you again mama, I’m most thankful for you.

    YOUR WINGS WERE READY,

    BUT MY HEART WAS NOT

I never really wanted you to go, so many things you should have known.

All the conversations I wanted to have, I always sense this nature about you, so raw and unmasked.

You were a brilliant person something I always admired, but God got jealous and took you in to get inspired.

You found your destiny towards the end of the light, so many fond memories came into sight.

They say when you go your whole life flashes before your very own eyes, but I don’t believe anyone goes away or really even
