About this ebook

After Pi Pre w (meaning Closer to you) MarieLove took a long restless break to carefully put together this collection of poems that epitomize the meaning of an emotional honesty. Its My Story is a poetic ensemble that can be interlaced into your own story, because surely youve been through some of those silent moments too. Emptiness, Passion, Faith, and Emotion are the different themes presented in this book with an intellectual keenness. There are pieces that depict lifes watershed, others speak of spirituality, and some others speak of some mere experiences in life and love. Somewhere along these poetic lines, you should be able to find yourself.

You owe it to yourself; you owe it to your life
You owe it to your heart (from One Promise)

After all, it is your Story too!

First question, if not second, readers usually ask is; “Where do you get your name from?” Or when they would introduce themselves people would ask “Is it your real name?” So that’s when she would reply nonchalantly “MarieLove is the poetic name that I have created for myself, it’s my comfort zone.” Ms. Brévil wishes are to submerge her readers into her universe where they, too at their turn, get to be as comfortable as to create their own world. Although she left her country at a young age, she was still able to articulate very well within her culture. Despite her despairing expressions which reflect her life experiences, she has still been able to continue pursuing her interest. In 2005, she published her first book “Pi Pre w” (Closer to you) in Kreyòl (Creole). Currently, she resides in New York where she plans to focus on publishing more books. Besides writing, she presents poignant subjects to children, young adults and adults in the community often regarding culture, conflict management and the simplistic side of life. She is presently working on her PhD in Public health. She is the founder of My Littl’ Workshop, a company that offers counseling and does workshops to assist the ones in need that it may be in their line of business, personal or professional lives, social lives or while in school. This company also offers other artistic projects like gift baskets and greeting cards for special occasions. Ms. Brévil is determined to be the evidence of a positive portrait for Ayiti (Haiti). Despite the rage of her disadvantage past, the constant disappointment she later face in her life, the anguish of her childhood and the lack of support she often faced, and her feelings being daunted by such, to herself and to some others, if not most, she is still running the race; she is a winner!

    It's My Story - MarieLove

    Introduction

It appears that, no matter how old someone maybe, at some point in life we all face with dealing with love. During my journey, at times, I was naïve, silly, foolish . . . you name it; I was it. Okay, maybe not that deep. But we were all young, therefore it is a process. We all wanted something; we were either forbidden to have or to do. For some of us, it was the body piercing or tattoos. For some others, it was singing or dancing. Well for me, at first, it was dancing then it became the writing. Because I enjoyed taking my notebook everywhere I go, including church and that was a no-no. Also, I would not sleep much, so the light would get turned off on me because at two o’clock in the morning I should be in bed sleeping not writing. It is obvious and fair to say that, my environment did not understand the gravity of my desire to write, perhaps some of them still don’t. In any way, writing to me was never a choice; often it felt more like an obligation.

Some of my writings were thrown away and even stolen. Could it get worst, perhaps? But I never got discouraged and I did not know why, perhaps I still don’t . . . When I take a look at myself, honestly, I am not entirely satisfied because I am still human but I am proud. For I am the product of "you’ll never be something, you’re
