About this ebook

These poems by Bryanne Champagne were
Discovered in her private diaries following
her death. Only a handful of her closest friends had
known of their existence. In a note she had written
to her friend, Matt Tessier, Bryanne thanked him for
seeing the deeper meaning of my poems and my
words. And she described this collection as
my life savings.

Bryanne Champagne

Bryanne was born in Ottawa, Ontario on September 3rd 1985. Soon after, she moved to St. Andrews West, Ontario where she lived with her mother, Joanne Bryan-Tyrell and stepfather, Gary Tyrell. Her father, Claude Champagne, still lives in Ottawa. Bryanne completed elementary schooling at St. Lucies. At the time of her death she was a grade 12 student at St. Joseph Secondary School in Cornwall. She planned to go on to college. On September 4th, 2002-just one day after her 17th birthday-Bryanne died suddenly and tragically from an undiagnosed heart disease. She left behind three stepbrothers: Ryan Champagne; Derrick Tyrell; and Jamie Tyrell along with his wife Kim and son Jonah (and late Lauryn). Three year old Jonah, was a very close and special nephew to Bryanne. (Jonah believed Santa Clause could bring his Bry-Bry home from heaven the following summer because his sleigh was empty at that time and hes not busy). Bryanne was also close to her cousins Marie-France, Anna, Alex, Tarra and Connor. She is missed by her grandparents, Mayo and Papa, and by all her aunts and uncles. Bryanne always had a kind word for everyone. When her schoolmates speak of her today the most important thing they remember is her ever-present smile. And we hope by sharing her poems, people will be able to see that smile through them. It is coming up the 10th anniversary of her death and we felt it was a good time to release her poems again, along with a few extra, to keep her close and know that she is still in our hearts and minds every day.
