35 Golden Rules to Invest in Yourself and Be Successful.
1. EAT HEALTHIER
A healthy lifestyle involves many decisions. Among them is the choice of a balanced diet or eating plan. So how do you choose a healthy eating plan? Let's start by defining what a healthy eating plan is. A healthy eating plan takes into account the following:
Emphasizes the importance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat-free or low-fat milk and dairy products, lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nuts.
Low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium) and added sugars
Stays within your daily caloric needs
Eat healthy and enjoy your meals!
A healthy eating plan for weight control includes a variety of foods you may not have considered. If healthy eating
makes you think about the foods you can't eat, focus your attention on all the new foods you can eat:
Fresh fruits: don't just think apples and bananas. Those are great choices, but try some exotic
fruits as well. How about a mango, or a juicy pineapple or kiwi! When it's not the season for your favorite fresh fruit, you can try frozen, canned or dried versions of the fresh fruits you like. One caveat about canned fruits is that they may contain added sugars or syrups. Be sure to choose fruit varieties that are canned in water or their own juice.
Fresh vegetables: You may find that you like grilled or steamed vegetables seasoned with herbs you haven't tried yet, such as rosemary. You can sauté vegetables in a nonstick skillet with a little cooking spray. Or try frozen or canned vegetables for a quick side dish, just microwave and serve. When trying canned vegetables, look for those that come with no added salt, butter or cream sauces. Make a commitment to go to the vegetable section and try one new vegetable a week.
Calcium-rich foods: You might automatically think of a glass of low-fat or fat-free milk when someone says you should eat more dairy products.
But what about low-fat and nonfat yogurts that contain no added sugars? These come in a wide variety of flavors and can be an excellent dessert substitute for those with a sweet tooth.
The new version of an old acquaintance: If your favorite recipe calls for fried fish or breaded chicken, try baking or grilling them for healthier variations. Maybe you can even try a recipe that calls for dried beans instead of high-fat meat. Ask people you know or search the Internet and magazines for recipes that contain fewer calories - you may be surprised to find you have a new favorite dish!
2. LEARN TO COOK
Can't cook? Well, that needs to be fixed. Food is something fundamental and our maxim is that everyone can cook, even if you are not a good cook.
Look at recipes and follow them to the letter is the first advice we can give you to learn how to cook and come out with something minimally edible. There are countless kitchen gadgets and each of them has its use, so it is a matter of acquiring them little by little. But among these, there are materials that are basic in the kitchen and that cannot be missing. These are the materials you need to learn how to cook:
Knives: it is essential to have knives that are also well sharpened. Keep in mind that there is a variety of knives and you will need a few of them from the beginning. These basics are the chef's knife, the utility knife, the serrated knife and the peeler.
Cutting board: made of plastic or wood, these boards are necessary because you will have to cut a lot of vegetables, meat and fish, as well as herbs, fruits and other foods. Almost every ingredient in a recipe will go through the cutting board beforehand, so you can't keep it too far away.
Wooden spoon: followed by the skimmer, the spatula and the saucepan. If you do not want wood, you can opt for plastic, but avoid metal because they spoil pans and pots.
Cookware: frying pans, saucepans and express pots. Get them in different sizes. You'll see how useful.
Blender: you may not have much skill with your hands, but a blender will get you out of more than one trouble.
Tupperware: essential for storing all the food you cook.
The first advice I can give you to learn how to cook is to lose your fear of cooking. There are many people who don't cook because they don't know how. However, although some people are more gifted than others to be a great cook, the reality is that we can all cook a half-decent dish. Look for recipes, find the ingredients and utensils you need to make it and pay attention to the timing. And just follow the recipe to the letter. If you follow the steps given in the recipe, you should have a fairly good result.
On the other hand, the most complicated thing is the issue of seasoning. Getting the right amount of salt, pepper, vinegar and other seasonings is the most difficult part. The trick is to add a small amount and keep tasting. You can fix it by adding more, but it won't work if you overdo it. So you know, from less to more. Also, in the case of salt, it is better to add it at the end, so we also reduce the consumption of a substance that is not good for our health.
If this is your first time in the kitchen, do not try to prepare complicated dishes. Start with simple recipes and with time you will increase the level of difficulty in your elaborations. Note that there are recipes of medium difficulty, easy recipes and difficult recipes. Start with the simplest ones. But this does not mean that you should be satisfied with opening a can of canned food or eating only salads. Don't be afraid of fire.
Another very important factor in cooking is time and stress. Rushing is not good in the kitchen. It takes time to cook, because food preparation is a process. If a recipe requires 30 minutes of cooking, you can't give it less, so throw out the rush and, if you enter the kitchen, no stress.
3. DON'T WORRY ABOUT OPINIONS
It is impossible to please everyone, especially if we want to maintain good emotional health. Worrying too much about what others think can be psychologically draining. By continually trying to please everyone, we abandon ourselves.
In fact, it is a very frequent way to stop living in the present moment and to betray ourselves. Because in the end, who are we really? It is as if we have sold ourselves to others, as
