Ownership or Relationship - R.A Bradley
Projection room
In the hall way to the projector room, one could see the dismembered arm from a sign that once pointed in from the road. One of those hand pointing arms that said right this way It was about three feet high.
The sign had been cut up to repair an exposed vent that let in to much cold air during the winter. People go to the cinema to feel good, they see a movie, and if its good they get lost in it, they laugh and cry, they cheer and boo, feel sexy, become tough. What ever that movie wants them to think, they follow. Just as long as it has a good Director.
Simon worked as a projectionist at the Cinema, he could see the people being entertained, but he did not see the similarity. His own life movie produced anxiety to blind him . He did not want to his life because he believed it was true.
People who came to watch a movie were escaping the reality in there own heads. giving over there minds . Billions of people drawing conclusions about what is presented to them, it does not matter what is presented, its just the reaction to it. Reality is whatever perception one has about what is in front of ones face. Stop believing what is presented to you, by not reacting to it.
Cinema
The last stretch of the journey took Simon across the bridge round the long bend and finally down the side road where the cinema was located. A post modern building, many of which are described as pre demolition. Simon's shoe lace undone, he knelt down on the busy bridge, and placed the keys in his hand on the ground.
A different view, peoples legs, and the surface of the road. People made room for him and even smiled as they looked down. The shoe lace was an unplanned event, It took him out of time, and the space his head normally occupied, from this simple action he felt released from the mundane .
If only I could remain doing up my shoe lace for the rest of the week, how happy I should be. Down here staring at people's legs, and the detail of the ground I feel free, Invisible , out the game. Nothing is expected from me as long as I remain doing up my shoe lace, I have never felt so good,
He was going to push the experience as far as he could. After a minute he got up and started walking again feeling extremely refreshed.
What if I pretend to do up my shoelace, dive down and become invisible again.
He tried but it didn't feel the same. Reaching the cinema the door his hand held up the key, he could not go in. Just looking at the door he could not breath,
what should I do? Walk round the block, just take it easy, after the five minute lap he was back. NO, NO, NO I can not go in, I just cant sit up there in the dark any more.
Simon had blown the Mental fuse that connects breathing to doing. The mind tells the body it would rather be dead than do. hyperventilating fear and complete Immobility were a symptom of his life .
Daisy appeared.
"Hi Simon what you
