At age seven, he started performing in local theater productions. That would continue into his middle and high school years. Following a stint in the Air Force, Howard set out on a career in radio broadcasting. Using the name “Jeff” Baker, he hosted morning shows in a dozen cities. During those years, he learned how to create and perform topical comedy on the fly. He returned to acting as a cast member on an award winning, Baltimore based comedy program, “Crabs.” It was live television, comedy performance without a net. Howard wrote a couple of pieces for that program and for improvisational troupes working in Washington, D.C. He took time to study acting with Wynn Handman at New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has since appeared in dozens of theatrical productions. In addition to his short form writing, Howard has authored screenplays and one-act plays. “Simon Finds His Voice” is his first book.view less
