Do you feel lucky, punk?
Yes, but I had a complicated relationship with feeling lucky for the first half of my life. I’ve felt privileged, I came from a nice family, and I didn’t want for much, so I had a hard time giving myself credit for anything. But as one gets older, shit happens [] and it evens out. The luck starts to dwindle. Life gets hard. No matter who you are, complicated things happen, pain happens. Then, in a weird way, I’ve enjoyed the luck I may have had in later life more, because I feel less guilty about it.
