Introduction
––––––––
Time Runner :Galicia has long held a mystical attraction for its visitors, it is the sacred road of the Camino de Santiago, a place of transformation from beast to man and man to beast. When events take an unexpected turn The Dreamer finds himself in a town befriending two Unconventional strangers who change the way he views the world. the ultimate journey of self discovery awaits him as he ventures in to a labyrinth of time and Consciousness.
Chapter 1 Town
Far from population and time the town of Ortigara sits bathed in the most unusual light, it's mystical quality reflected in the waters of it's luminous bay. In the harbor the chaotic rhythm of sail boat rigging flaps and taps against the masts, plucked by the ghostly hand of the wind.
Located geographically at the end of the world as the ancient Greeks described it and nestled in between a long succession of peaks, any journey there is like a roller coaster.
In the centre of the town there is a hill and on it stands a white church, its bell tower breaking into the light of the blue sky. Just next to it there is a redundant windmill, and below that the white walls and haunting spires of a graveyard. The iron work of the tombs sticking out like a mass of antenna signalling to the towns inhabitants reminding them of their own mortality.
People look for a door to appear after an event that changes everything a point of release. There is confusion about what to do but its the evolution of life. There is no way to understand it, until one just gets on board and things happen. That's how The Dreamer appeared in Galicia, Instigated by a telephone call to a woman he had never spoken to before called Anna.
Ortigara was about 2 days' drive from Burgos it had been his intention to enjoying the beautiful buildings and sculpture in the city. Northern Spain is filled with such places all of them bathed in history. The entire route known as the Compostela de Santiago was a place where the door he was looking for existed. Marched through by countless foot steps for thousands of years stepping towards the light of God.
Burgos sits high up on a mountain plateau and if the snow came it was possible he might get stuck there for weeks. So with the telephone number given to him by a friend,The Dreamer called Anna.
The conversation went as follows:
Anna .You are lucky to catch me in and even luckier that I answered the phone, I do not care for phones you see, and as such, do not answer them. I will deem it as a sign that you have something important to say to me rather than something to sell me.
He explained that It was a friend of a friend who had given him her number on a piece of paper, and that he had stuffed in to his back pack. He did not imagine he would call , but this morning as he reached in to the bag it fell out.
It was as if the telephone number came to life, I just felt compelled at that point to call you Anna, I don't really know what for but all the same here I am talking to you.
To his surprise Anna said. You must leave before it snows, I have a room for you, I do not normally do such things, but for you I feel some affinity.
The Dreamer felt that spark of certainty affinity provides and with the first flurries of snow snaking behind in the rear view mirror of his car he left Bergos!
The Dreamer instantly recounted the time when a fly had pestered him he watched as it cleaned its back legs, its snout, and lifted its wings .When another fly appeared it did the same, it was the same method used to experience being a fly. Even though his own life was much more complex it was no different, we do the same things to experience being human.
If he could only remember that ! it could change him in ways he could not imagine but Still he was bound to forget. Becoming Silent he experienced the mountains and by the shadow and noise of the car, the mountains experienced him.
Chapter 2 Arrival
––––––––
The Dreamer arrived in Ortigara
Most people walk the Camino do they not?
said Anna, in a joking way. And you are driving a car.
She was standing in her front garden by the gate as he pulled up ready to collapse in to the nearest thing that looked like a bed.
Yes following the Camino just sort of happened. I didn't even know of it until a year or so ago.
Why?
asked Eva. What happened that made you want to kill yourself? she said with a smile, come inside
Is that what people who come on the Camino are doing?
Yes, mostly they come seeking transformation in some way, but not all, for some it's just a holiday I can tell by the look on people's faces as to which group they belong. You see I do not believe that you just sort of ended up here, this is a road of pilgrimage and one is most defiantly led here. Even though one may not be aware of it. Before the Camino you had been to other, sacred .
How did you know that?
He asked
I can see it written on your face, its in your eyes
Well you are quite right, I sat on Glastonbury Tor, for a number of weeks, next to the Mother Stone. There’s a giant rock that sits behind a small clump of trees about three-quarters of the way up, People put ribbons in the trees and prayers next to it.
"I like that part of the world very much ,Ortigara shares some similarities to it, the idea that got you here is not important, it is that you are here now that's the main thing.
The Caminos energy unlocks something inside when you are ready for it. These places are linked together in a way that is hard to understand ."
At that point Anna's husband Thomas, who had been silent introduced himself .
You probably have more sense not walking the Camino I suppose,
He reached out his hand and shook The Dreamers . Especially in this weather.
Anna became abrupt and suddenly declared. Both my husband and I are Pagans you understand and we do not believe in all that church stuff, that’s something I tell everyone, can you get along with that?
Her husband handed them both a drink at which Anna laughed turning in a circle. Here is to the circle of time, welcome, you are welcome here.
That seemed to be her way of cementing the arrangement, then with a focused look she returned to the Questioning as if she had caught a fish and wanted to reel it in. What determines your actions? I do not ask people those questions but I feel like asking you.
I want to be alive, I know when I am not , I see it every where, on people's faces, how they move and the way they communicate. When I am alive I understand what I am.
Ah
she said, feeling as if that fish on the line was a worthwhile catch.
"So that's it, you have lost yourself that's the first place to start one must lose ones self,
