About the Author & this Booklet
I wake up to a new day and a New Year. Instead of resolutions I’ll drift away from and forget, I resolve to have each day be a clean slate filled with unlimited promise. Every morning, I’ll envision my best day and best moment knowing I can start my day over anytime. I set the intention to live according to the dream that my Spirit longs to express through me and I’ll create my own heaven on earth…
I accept myself for who I am because I know that whatever happens, God loves me and I am loved no matter what I do. Sometimes accepting myself means acting as if
I do. My history may have programmed me into believing that I’m less than what I am which isn’t true. I’ll give myself credit for every step it’s taken to get me to where I am today and I’m stronger for it. I’m grateful for all of the lessons and know that anytime I can write a new script and change my life…
I am a spiritual being having a human experience. I am capable of faith, hope and I appreciate beauty. I have an unlimited source of strength and comfort at my disposal. Today, I take time to cultivate my spiritual connection knowing and trusting that I am always connected to God even when I think I’m not. The Course in Miracles says, Under all the senseless thoughts and mad ideas with which we've cluttered up our minds are the thoughts that we had with God in the beginning…
Meister Eckart said, If the only prayer you say is ‘Thank You,’ that would suffice.
It isn’t easy to feel grateful in troubling times, but when I fill this moment with gratitude, the next one may bring me blessings. When I focus on my problems it’s easy to forget about the good things that are happening. Helen Keller said, Everything has its wonders, even in darkness and silence, I learn whatever state I’m in to be content…
Reverend Phil Smedstad wrote, I deserve to know, to feel and to express my oneness with God and with all of God’s qualities. This means I deserve to experience myself as innocent, lovable, loving, powerful, fully alive, wise and filled with joy and enthusiasm.
I gain spiritual freedom through a personal understanding of God and allow others that same freedom. By freeing myself from within, I’m better able to think loving thoughts and give love to others. I unlock the internal chains that bind me and practice new ways to make my life more spiritual, sane, satisfying and serene…
My false self is who I thought I was when I forget that ─ I am love. God is love. My outer peace comes from feeling harmony and acceptance within myself first. When I listen to the voice of self-love and move forward from my strengths not my weaknesses, I come to know that I am 100% lovable. I will practice loving myself unconditionally. I’ll only be able to manifest the relationships I want when I give to myself what I expect from others. I’m willing to give love to my partners, my children, and my co-workers before I expect to receive it from them…
In Spirit, I am unlimited. My Spirit within gives me freedom and enables me to face any challenge with wisdom, serenity and resolve. I let go of all limits and open myself to be a vessel for great ideas, love and healing to come to life. I move forward with confidence that all the good I seek is available and already done. I celebrate all the good in my life and find joy in the good that others receive. Within the silence stands a temple of quietude where I can be nourished and healed. I drink deeply from the stream of my inner knowingness and trust that within my soul is the wisdom of the universe available for me to commune with at any time…
Reverend Phil Smedstad wrote, I deserve to have all of the loving, empowering, nourishing relationships I want to have. I deserve to be a true friend and to have true friendships.
I might want to also adopt this poem, They drew a circle to keep me out, but God and I were bound to win. We drew a circle that kept them in.
I choose to practice bringing out the best in me, in order to invite the best in the situations and the people that I meet…
I awaken my loving nature. Like God, it’s my nature to create and love my creations. These include my experience of myself, everyone else and everything in my life. I rise above my challenges. Grace is defined as the freely given, unmerited favor and love of God.
It’s those times when God touches my life unexpectedly, those rare moments when I can see and be present with the Beloved Energy of God in whatever may be happening and whoever the Beloved shows up to be…
A miracle is merely a change in perception. They happen within my mind and heart. Miracles are not only possible, they can be ordinary. They can be as plentiful as I believe that they are. All I have to do is change my perception of what I don’t like. I have two choices: Change my view or change the situation. This applies to my job, my partnerships, my body, my hobbies. I don’t have to do this alone. I have my Higher Source, God, or whatever I’ve named It to help me change my perception. Once I ask for guidance, I free up my mind and the answer comes…
I am here to make a unique contribution. I know how to express my talents and abilities. I am a representative of God on planet earth. I have a personal vision and I deserve to live this vision. I’ve been given a special purpose that may or may not be manifesting now. It doesn’t matter where I work, who my family is or how much money I make. If I bring the presence of God into everything I think, say and do, then I’m fulfilling my purpose: to bring love and peace to each moment and wherever I’m guided to go…
Choosing a path of spiritual growth can be as simple as making a decision to experience the presence of God in any way that I can. It might be a moment when I’m aware that I’m always worried and dissatisfied. I’ll pause and look at a flower and realize that it remains rooted in something bigger and deeper than itself. I’ll decide right then and there to start a conversation with God Who is always connected to my soul. Then, I’ve begun the process that no matter where I end up, it’s only the spiritual journey that truly matters …
I have two selves- My True Self is my God/Spirit within,
and my false self is my ego/personality absorbed and learned from others. I awaken to the false self and know where all of my problems come from. My solutions come from being conscious of, and releasing this false sense of identity. This takes practice. First, I wake up and realize that my ego’s perceptions are not reality. Then, I start to hear the still, small voice within. As I practice, the volume of this voice of truth strengthens and I become acutely aware when my ego wants to run the show. With this awareness, I free myself from the chains that have kept me in the dark. I walk forward into the light…
Today I will make use of my precious gift of imagination. I will turn away from negativity, self-doubt and fear and celebrate life instead. Teddy Roosevelt said, Do what you can with what you have and where you are.
Imagination is inner sight that allows me to come up with new pictures and possibilities. It is the voice that Spirit uses to communicate and remind me that I am a child of God with infinite power and Divine ideas. I’m inspired to implement these plans and serve the greater good for all…
Am I getting what I want in life? Where I focus my attention determines what I attract. Alan Cohen says, Everything you experience reflects your intentions.
If my sense of purpose is clear and strong then the results manifest quickly and easily. If I’m full of doubt and resistance then the process slows down. In truth, I deserve to experience the abundance of God which is within me and knowing this without a shadow of a doubt, I will see this abundance reflected in my life as prosperity, health and truth…
Sometimes my greatest weaknesses prove to be my greatest strengths. They provide me with opportunities to grow. Every time I’m afraid I can build the muscle of courage that I don’t even know I have. Sometimes, I just need enough courage to take baby steps and sometimes I leap with faith that the net will appear. Everything in me can be used for my good. If I feel insecure or scared today, I’ll take it as an opportunity to practice being courageous…
The best of all gifts is a tranquil mind. I can’t go out and buy
