Acknowledgments
All of my life I have been taught (and have believed) that thought is powerful, that what we think influences what we bring into our experience, and that at all times we have the power to change our experience by changing our perception. I’ve also learned that love is omnipotent. It has the power to override negative thoughts, it has the power to perpetuate itself, and it has the power to create. Love is the strongest energy, and the strongest force.
Whenever we think, speak, or act, we inherently intend
our experience at that moment. Each intention becomes a catalyst for experiences that interact with the thoughts, words, and actions of others. This collision and interaction of intentions can’t help but profoundly affect our behavior, our environment, our communities, our world, our universe—and, therefore, our selves—on a very personal level.
Each intention is based on love—or it isn’t. Either we live and cultivate an environment based on love—or we don’t. And where there is no cognizant basis of love, chaos prevails.
The Book of Intentions was born out of my desire to raise my life to a higher level of experience. As I began writing intentions
for myself, I thought about the fact that so many of us have common goals in all areas of our lives, such as work, play, love, family, community, and spirituality. It occurred to me that some sort of list could be a helpful tool to share with others; then I realized that a simple, straightforward book would be the answer. Not a lot of text, just intentions that others could work with from a personal point of view. But I didn’t want the book to relax into shallow platitudes, I wanted to let it evolve into something that would dig deeper and promote real growth. And true growth is always at the spiritual level, not the material level—so the intentions are often connected to spirituality.
I offer this book to you as a resource—to help you anchor your thought in love, to help you keep your thought available solely for good, and to help you open your thought to all that may be true about the nature and purpose of your existence.
I invite you to take notice of your intentions, to take responsibility for your intentions, to take control of your intentions—and to
