    Leberknödelsuppe (Liver Dumpling Soup)

    Für 4 Portionen

    Zutaten:

    - 125 g Leber (Rinder- oder Schweineleber) (125g liver - beef or pork)

    - 1 altbackenes Brötchen (1 stale roll)

    - 1 Zwiebel (1 onion)

    - 1 Ei (1 egg)

    - 1 EL Petersilie, gehackt (1 tbsp chopped parsley)

    - Salz und Pfeffer nach Geschmack (Salt and pepper to taste)

    - Muskatnuss nach Geschmack (Nutmeg to taste)

    - 1 Liter Rinderbrühe (1 liter beef broth)

    Anleitung:

    1. Die Leber, das Brötchen und die Zwiebel fein hacken.  (Finely chop the liver, bread roll, and onion.)

    2. Die gehackte Leber, das Brötchen, die Zwiebel, das Ei und die Petersilie in einer Schüssel vermengen. (Combine the chopped liver, bread roll, onion, egg, and parsley in a bowl.)

    3. Mit Salz, Pfeffer und Muskatnuss würzen und gut vermischen. (Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and mix well.)

    4. Aus der Masse kleine Knödel formen. (Form small dumplings from the mixture.)

    5. Die Rinderbrühe in einem Topf zum Kochen bringen. (Bring the beef broth to a boil in a pot.)

    6. Die Leberknödel in die kochende Brühe geben und ca. 15-20 Minuten köcheln lassen. (Place the liver dumplings into the boiling broth and let them simmer for about 15-20 minutes.)

    7. Die Suppe servieren und genießen. (Serve the soup and enjoy.)
