Embracing the Cross: A Life of Faith
()
About this ebook
It can be hard to embrace the cross. However, by taking conscious actions every day, we can live as disciples of Christ and pick up our cross and follow God. As Christians, the Bible tells us that there are certain actions that we should take every day to please God and to live a life of faith. This faith, we as disciples, have in our hearts should be displayed in the way we think, talk, act, and live. This is because living as disciples requires that we embrace the cross as the foundation of our faith.
Before we consider how to embrace the cross, let’s reflect on what can make us true disciples of Christ for a few moments. A disciple is a person who first admits he is a sinner before God and then realizes that he has no hope of getting to heaven by his own efforts. This awareness can inspire us to want to live the best possible life and embrace the cross so we can gain our eternal reward.
Not too many Christians discuss embracing the cross. They are baffled by how many precepts are contained in living with humility and love. Yet embracing the cross is considered to be one of the guidelines on how to live an authentic Christian life that is praiseworthy to God. Embracing our cross, as hard as it is, should be our purpose as Christians.
