    INTRODUCTION

Hello readers, first I would like to appreciate you for reading this book. I am certain that within its pages you will find something of interest or value. This book is a published replica of some of my writings over the years; writings based on the Bible and the understanding of its scriptures. It is comprised of insight which I often refer to as messages, personal experiences as they relate to the Bible, and praise reports. I believe all three are very important when trying to live for God.

The most important feature of this book is the Bible scriptures, which are highlighted. The Bibles used are the Life Application Study Bible (NLT) and the NIV Study Bible. I believe God’s word is still as powerful, true, and effective today as it was when it was originally written. The key, however, is correctly understanding and applying the Bible despite the obvious time, language, and cultural changes. Therefore, directly following the scriptures in my book are the messages and insights to provide a better understanding of them. There are also very informative footnotes from the Life Application Study Bible (NLT) which are in italics. They provide deeper insight and background information. The footnotes played a major part in my understanding. Therefore, I believe that God could use them to help my readers as well. Simply reading the bible can be difficult to understand at times, especially for those who may be in the beginning stages of their spiritual walk. For this reason, I humbly share the knowledge given to me that was so helpful on my journey to spiritual growth.

To know God is to love God, therefore, we desire to draw close to Him and that is where the journey begins. The personal experiences you will find in this book are from my journey toward Christ. I did not always go in the right direction but I continued to seek God’s path. I’ve had ups and downs, made some mistakes, as well as correct decisions. However, I am not ashamed. I’ve learned that there is no shame in Christ. Also I believe that shame is the first step of judging and neither has any place within the fellowship of the believers in Christ.

I am extremely thankful to God for all that He has done in my life as you will find in the praise reports. They are a great source of encouragement for you and others. Sometimes we face difficult times in our lives where we don’t know how or when God will deliver us, but past deliverances can provide confidence for the future. Many times you will find that when you wait on God, He turns that bad situation completely around so that it works out for good. Praising God prevents us from losing patience, therefore it is vital.

All in all, the purpose of this book is to encourage everyone who reads it. I encourage you in God throughout your hard times. I encourage you to keep or get your hand in God’s hand and to get back up after every mistake. Most importantly, I encourage everyone to have a personal relationship with God. This way we would not misjudge, fear the judgment of others, or be lead away by false teachings. We are then free to do the work God that has for us as we all have a personal journey toward Christ. Please find helpful the diary of mine.

1 John 2: 24-25.-(24)So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. (25)And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us.- Remain faithful stood out to me. In a marriage we want our partners to be committed to us and us only. So we should have that same understanding when it comes to God, studying His word, and pleasing Him by living righteously. It says remain faithful to what you have been taught. So don’t stray away from it. Do as it says, we can’t take bits and pieces. The word says from the beginning. Not halfway through or only what you like. To me it means from the beginning as in everything that you have been taught. If you do you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. When we remain faithful within our marriage we generally remain in the relationship with our partner. So if we remain faithful to our teaching we will remain in fellowship with God. And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us. So being committed to our studying keeps us in fellowship with the Father, which leads to eternal life. Or in other words, being faithful to God, through his teachings, keeps us in fellowship, which leads to eternal life. So by being faithful to his teachings we are being faithful to God and for being faithful to God he gives us eternal life.

James 1:25.- But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. It seems paradoxical that a law could give us freedom, but God’s law offers us a true reflection of our sinful condition and gives us the opportunity to ask for God’s forgiveness (see Romans 7:7,8). As Christians, we are saved by God’s grace, and salvation frees us from sin’s control. As believers, we are free to live as God created us to live. Of course, this does not mean that we are free to do as we please (see 1 Peter 2:16). We are now free to obey God.

It seems obvious that living as God created us to and living as we please ate tow totally different things, in my opinion. We are naturally sinful creatures. Therefore, more often than not, what pleases us displease God. We only begin to live for Christ when we allow him to change us, because we can’t serve him on our own. If we lived to please ourselves, we may never get to know God. But living to please God is to deny ourselves as well as our fleshly desires and allow God in our heartsso He can give us desires that He approve of. Free will should not be confused with freedom to live as we please either. I believe we are given free will because God loves a cheerful giber. He wants us to serve Him not because we have no other choice, but because we realize His awesomeness, power, and love, also because it’s our heart’s desire to do so.

Romans 6.-(1)Well then, should we keep on sinning sot that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? (2)Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? (3)Or have you forgotten that when we joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? (4)For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (5)Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. (6)We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. (7)For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. (8)And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. (9)We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. (10)When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. (11)So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. (12)Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to the sinful desires. (13)Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. (14)Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. (15)Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! (16)Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. (17)Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. (18)Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and have become slaves to righteous living. (19)Because if the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led even deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. (20)When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. (21)And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. (22)But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. (23)For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Exodus 23:20 says See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. The road to a God-fearing life and obedient life is a journey. Once the journey begins is when it seems all sorts of temptation, tests, and trials begin. But His word promises that His angel would lead and protect us. As spiritual babies, we don’t know God’s plan all the time or where He wants us to be. However, His word also promises that His angel will lead us safely to the place He has prepared for us. He never said it would be easy but he does promise protection, guidance, and safety. I feel that the place that God has prepared for us, in today’s society, refers more to our spiritual relationship with Christ than to a physical place as it did in biblical times. Verse 21 says Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion. When we allow God in our hearts and ask him to mold us we have to do exactly what this verse says, even if we don’t know or understand why. (22) But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. I feel the enemy in this verse is sinful desires. (23)For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there. And I will destroy them completely. God will completely destroy and eliminate those sinful desires in our hearts and replace them with Godly characteristics and desires. (24) You must not worship the gods of these nations or serve them in any way or imitate their evil practices. Instead, you must utterly destroy them and smash their sacred pillars. We must be in the world but not of the world. We cannot take part in the pleasures of our society. We must be set apart from them. (25) You must serve only the LORD your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness. He will provide for us. We know that God is our provider. Not only that, we can also call on Him for a cure from illness. Yes, He will be our healer also. (26) There will be no miscarriages or infertility in your land, and I will give you long, full lives. Our land is our homes and family. By following God we will experience what life is meant to be. It would be like a life in paradise. No matter what may come up we should have nothing to worry about. Peace is what that sounds like to me. (27) I will send my terror ahead of you and create panic among all the people whose lands you invade. I will make all your enemies turn and run. People will see the God in you. Those doing wrong will not like to be around you. Maybe this explains why people leave when godly people come around. Those who don’t want to know God will not stay around you. You will lose plenty of friends and family. They are not your enemies in the sense that they want to harm you but they are enemies because they oppose what you stand for, which is God. (28) I will send terror ahead of you to drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites. Worldly people will not stick around; therefore, temptation to go along with their actions will be driven out. (29) But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. It doesn’t happen overnight. God will gradually change you. You will not drop every bad habit at once, but allow God to take over. Maybe if He took every bad thing at once we would be empty or idle. Maybe this is what an idle mind is the devil’s workshop means. (30) I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land. He will gradually change us by replacing good for evil in our hearts until we are spiritually mature. (32) Make no treaties with them or their gods. (33) They must not live in your land, or they will cause you to sin against me. If you serve their gods, you will be caught in the trap of idolatry. Don’t compromise your spiritual relationship with God for friends, family, or desires. We must be careful who we mingle with. The company we keep is important when serving God is our goal. Speaking from experience, it’s easy to fall prey to friends and family’s actions. We want to be around these people because we love and may even miss them if they have stopped coming around when they saw the changes God. This makes it even harder. I would tell myself I will join them for a little while then go back to God. But we can’t straddle the fence. We are to serve and please God only. When we put things in front of God by choosing them over Him, we have fallen in the trap of idolatry.

Mark 6:30-44.-(30)The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. (31)Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. (32)So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. (33)But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got
