About this ebook
Today, many believers have retreated into their comfort zones and are waiting for Christ there. They feel that their salvation is there ticket into heaven and that is all that is required. To be holy is not something you put on to go to church or to be charitable to those who are less fortunate than you. To be holy starts at home, it is how your house is run. It is giving God reverence from the time you awake, to the time you lay your head down for the night. It’s how you raise your children, how you conduct your marriage and how your love and attitude affect others. To be holy is more than being set apart, it’s an ever-growing lifestyle that changes you from the inside out. It’s not a board or committee you are a part of. It’s not where you sit in church or who you associate with. God is much higher than these things. We must go where he is, to a higher place in our thinking, our loving others and our preparation to serve him.

Introduction
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet,
so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see God.
Hebrews 12:12-14
What does it say about ourselves if we are called to be God’s chosen people? Speaking for myself, I have learned that life is a process that begins at the time we are born and continues to the moment where we come to realize who we are as individuals. We are blind to the truth of God until our eyes are opened to see ourselves as we truly are – broken. From that moment, the call goes out for our lives to come and see that there is a better way – the way of Christ. We must be willing to accept the truth and believe that God exists and that He sent His Son to save us. If we accept the invitation to salvation, we must accept the change of lifestyle and character that goes with our sacrifice to Christ. Then, we must learn that we were called to a plan and a purpose. We learn in that plan the reason we were called for God’s glory and the love of God. This is where our journey begins in knowing God and the Holy Spirit. As we continue the journey, we go deeper in understanding His purpose for our lives.
This righteous journey begins with a deeper love for God, which is also the first commandment. We need to have a heart of God that enables us to see Him. As I read the verse above, I see it as a command from the Living God to first listen and focus on what He is about to say. The second part is asking us to strengthen our minds and to believe in who we are. Our self-awareness is the key to God’s plan. The next step is to go deeper in understanding Christ Jesus. To do this, we must awaken the Holy Spirit within us. This is the only way to find that path because the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. If we seek the healing and freedom that are promised to us by God, we must be obedient to His Word. We cannot lead a peaceful, holy life without a changed mind. Then, how will we ever see God? He has put His stamp on things that He calls holy from the beginning of the world’s creation, starting with the Sabbath Day to calling those who are followers of Christ, His holy people, for He is God, the Father and we are His children.
These verses are reminders to every follower of Christ to know that the work of the Cross is not complete. Yes, we are saved, but the proof of our conviction is our obedience to be more like Christ. There are two types of followers: the first is drawn by the love of God and is ready to serve; the second has lived a broken life and is searching to find a new life. They both accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. They are ushered into a church to serve and grow. We must always remember that this is a process and, it takes time to go from milk to solid food. Therefore, it is essential to start right.
We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Hebrews 5:11-14
Each believer is called and reminded to live a holy life. This life sets us apart from the world and sin. God’s chosen people have been asked to be more than just believers throughout the Bible. Therefore, we need to know that we can trust Him in every situation. We stand on what we know about God because He is greater than our problems. God is asking us to go higher and deeper in all we do. We must know where to start to accomplish this. All believers must have a reverent fear of God. Where there is no fear, there is little or no faith. Where there is no faith, there is no love for God or one another.
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.
1 Peter 1:15-16
Today, many believers have retreated into their comfort zones and are waiting for Christ to arrive. They feel that their salvation is the only requirement, their ticket to heaven. But, being holy is not something we put on to go to church or to be charitable to the less fortunate. Being holy starts at home, and it is how our house is run.
