A seed of his call to the ministry was first planted by Dr Frederick S. Jones of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Triangle, VA. Upon his move to Richmond, Pastor King, under the leadership of Pastor Darryl G. Thompson, was licensed to preach and ordained at Mt. Olive Baptist in Glen Allen, VA.
He is the former Pastor at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church in Gordonsville, VA and blessed to be the current Under Shepherd of The Mt Gilliam Baptist Church in Louisa, VA
He is married (49 years) to the former Marjorie Deloris Culley of Stafford, VA; to that union they have been blessed with 3 sons and 3 wonderful daughters-in-law. They are the proud grandparents of six.
After 25 years of service, Pastor King a former District Training Manager for Food Lion Inc., was blessed to be able to move from career to calling, working full time in the field of Gods ministry. Pastor Kings desire is to teach and preach this Word of God; ministering to the sick and downhearted; sharing words of comfort to all those who have an ear to hear. One of his favorite scripture is I Corinthians 15:58
