About this ebook

This ministry began with about ten people who, on Sunday morning, did not enter the doors of any of Gods house of worship and who had an urging to wake up with a Sunday morning text message just to get them going.

As time passed, we were blessed to share these same messages not only to those who did not make it to church but also to those who just wanted to hear an inspiring Word just to get them going. It has been shared with me that these early morning text messages (they were sent out beginning at 7:00 a.m.) was their wake-up call or a Word while getting dressed or even at the breakfast table. I am so honored that these single servings of Gods Word are shared not only by those in pews but also for those who stand behind the pulpit.

It is a blessing to be able to share some thoughts on Gods Words to those who have an eye or an ear to receive. Those who love for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords takes the time grab hold of a message whose original author promises to grab hold of you.

To receive the full value of Gods messages, please attend the house of prayer of your choice for Sunday school, Bible study, and worship services. (If you are in the area, stop on by the Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church.)

I invite you to read each scripture text and then the lesson that follows.

At the time of this publication, these Sunday morning text messages and Facebook posts reaches as far north as the New England area, as far south as Florida and Texas, and as far west as California.

Keep in mind: these words that are shared are not a complete sermon but food for thought.

This is a spiritual continental breakfasta continental Word.

This is not a sermon but a single sample of Gods will.

Its not a sermon but a serving of Gods love.

Not a Sermon, Just a Serving - Pastor Donald M. King Sr.

    Prelude

Day by day, in a world filled with judgment, discord, selfishness, and mistrust, the call for a more advanced Christian spirituality should be more prevalent than at any time in God’s history. Faith and hope, the direction for all of us should be the word of the day. All of us need to be filled with encouragement in order to move forward in our lives; to learn the true meaning of what it is to have an expectation of optimism. Many want to know more about this optimism but seem lost on how to acquire it. A lot are wanting, but are not willing to adopt or make the changes necessary in their lives to obtain it.

A relationship with God is the true foundation that is necessary. This does not begin as a community or a state-wide thing, this fellowship begins with a one on one relationship with God and the belief that He is the author and finisher of everything in our lives. Relationships don’t work well if those involved don’t really know each other. If we are to grow spiritually strong, a prerequisite, to Love of God, we must start with an understanding of who God really is.

Christianity requires us to surrender our all in all to the Lord and be willing to apply the Word of God in our lives. Surrender to the spirit so that God can begin work in us as we begin to form a fellowship with our fellow man through a relationship with Him.

We are all on a spiritual journey as a follower of the Lord. The moment we accept Christ and place all of our trust in Him, from that point on until death or until the coming of Christ our goal is to be more and more like Christ. God calls each of us to accomplish a mission filled with optimism. It is the spirit of the Lord that will give us the strength to grow in His will, His way, His Word. It takes every one of us to be able to share this hope and spirituality to encourage each other that on tomorrow, it will be better than today.

We must realize we are in Spiritual warfare with all the forces that will turn us away from the truth. But before we can address and share the good news of the Bible and address the growth of spirituality of others and the world, we must first prepare ourselves to be able to stand the whims of the enemy and grow spiritually ourselves.

The following nuggets of our messages are there to spark, to ignite a yearning to grow is Grace and bask in the Glory that is our calling.

For this Spiritual growth I am speaking of, I encourage as you read these servings of the scripture lessons, please read the entire Chapter of the scripture Text given.

Now on to whet your appetite and feast on a single serving (not the entire sermon) of God’s Word

    Standing Out for Jesus

    25003.png

    Phillippians 2:12-16 (NIV)

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.

In a world filled with mix-ups and misunderstandings, and in times that seem more at ease with conflict than with the conviction. There are those who want the Sun to revolve around them instead of them revolving around the Son. Paul writes to us, that we need to work out our own Salvation bringing glory to God. This cannot happen if we blend in and look like the world around us. The problem we face today is that we have too many Christians who want to blend in. These Blenders are those Christians who walk by sight and not by faith. They are Blenders who want to look and act like the crowd, even if the crowd is heading straight to hell. They are Blenders who don’t want to see the truth, because it may convict them. Paul reminds us to Stand Out—don’t join the Blenders! Join Christ, and be a shining star to the World. More Love Cultivates Spiritual Growth

    25003.png

    I Peter 2:1-3 (NIV)

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the world that you may grow thereby if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

When we are living through the winter seasons, in spite the cold, let’s set our sailes on the warmth of a mission of more love. Peter reminds us to get rid of the mess and desire more Spiritual milk. Love is a characteristic of the spiritually strong. When we begin to grow spiritually, we can overcome naysayers and doubters. The more we love and the more we spread love, the more we become like Christ. It is not about quantity, it is about quality. We are called tonot only to be the difference but to make a difference; not only in our lives but in the lives of others, providing an example and encouragementto others. In 2018, all of God’s children should demonstrate more love." More love will cultivate Spiritual Growth. Share God’s Word Today.

Get Up and Get Back in There

    25003.png

    Acts 14:19-21 (NIV)

The Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

Whenever you step up for Jesus, know that the enemy will try to knock you back down. Often when God’s people have had their backs up against the walls, they come out swinging in the name of Jesus, with trusting hearts in what God can and will do. For healing and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, Paul in this passage was beaten, dragged to the edge of the city, and left for dead. After the disciples surrounded him with love and prayer, Paul got back up and returned to the city to share again the love of the Lord. This year we may face many challenges as we strive for Spiritual Maturity, but praying together and working together will set the enemy on his heels. We too may
