Finding God: Love Devotional

Finding God is about pursuing Him. It is about going after God with all your Heart and discovering Him even in hard times. God is almost always discovered through pain -- based on the reaction of the individual suffering. Pain can be a blessing in disguise when used to reach out and touch God. There is no need to fear heartache and sorrows, but what you do in the midst of it is crucial.
I discovered God through much heartache and pain (I spoke about this in The Revelation of the Dragon: No More Walls bk. 1). I remember when I thought my life was over and the only person I had left was God. This caused me to experience a rude awakening that brought me closer to Him. I was a Christian for many years, but it was not until I found Him in such a profound way that I realized I was like Peter, walking with God, but not converted.
After my conversion began, I noted that things changed dramatically with only little prayer and sincere effort on my part, focusing on God while putting His Words into practice. I was amazed at how much I discovered God that I decided to marry my new found lifestyle with much prayer. The Lord saw my heart and He responded by saying, “It is not just in the praying, but the doing.” There are many men and women of prayer whose life remains the same because it is not just in the praying, but the doing.
My eyes were immediately opened as I saw the importance of marrying a Believer’s lifestyle with obedience and prayer. I got astounding results with little prayer and by becoming a doer of the Word instead of just a hearer, in comparison to much praying and no results due to lack of practicality. What we do is more important to God than what we pray and how long we pray. He will honour our lifestyle above our prayers because our life is a form of worship and is extremely important to God.

If you want more of God, then you must be desperate enough to go after Him.  Finding God is not about praying while waiting for something magical to happen, but it is all about your actions – becoming practical by living according to the Word of God as this will further lead to a holy lifestyle for all Believers. 

If you want more of God, you need to get practical.  If you want to touch His heart, you must be obedient to His Word, if you want to change your life for good, get connected to the True Vine. 

Finding God is a love devotional that is based on active obedience to God’s Word. The secret to all who have found God in a profound way, is walking in love. If you can walk in love daily, this would mean that you have successfully learnt how to overcome the flesh and live a Spirit filled life.  Walking in Love is the secret to discovering God. 

This is not a complete study on the subject of love, but rather personal insights that will assist the Christian Believer in discovering God while changing their outlook on life and building faith in God.  Further reflections are encouraged.  Do read, reflect, meditate and pray after reading each devotional guide.

WALK IN LOVE

If you want more of God, walk in love.  I’m talking about love which yields commitment.  It is not in how much you know, but how much you do, and let me add, how much you do because of love (watch your motive). 

1 Corinthians 13 says, And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Love is an action word.  The scripture tells us that we must love our neighbor as we love ourselves because love is the fulfillment of the law. The Bibles goes further to say, if you love me keep my commandments.  He that says He loves me and does not keep my Words, the same is a liar and the truth is not in him.
