Chapter 1: Introduction
Welcome to this guide to help you breakthrough your fears and phobias and improve the quality of your life. You are here because you have made a decision to gain more knowledge and understanding about your particular condition, and I really want to congratulate you on taking the time to educate yourself about how to have your very own breakthrough. However, it is also important to know that much of our success and results is dependent upon what we do, and how willing we are to try new ideas and concepts. The old saying ‘What you think is what you get’ is very true. When you look at phobias they are strong thoughts that we have. They seem real and look real, but really, these are thoughts in our heads that we believe are very real to us. I often think of ourselves as movie directors, creating and moulding our lives and experiences, but unlike a movie director that deletes scenes they do not like, we fail to recognise that we have the same ability. We also can delete and change our mental movie to one that is less intense and more harmonious. I’m sure if I put a red hot burning poker in your hands you would soon drop it pretty quick, and go ‘ouch, that hurt!! I’ll let that go!’ or words to that affect.

If you put junk in, you get junk out. If you believe xyz is going to happen and that you have xyz phobia, then you do, and it does not matter what anyone tells you, you believe it is real and life like to you. It is important you understand the previous sentence clearly if you are going to breakthrough your phobia. You also will have many reasons why you have this issue or phobia, you will probably get quite upset and irritated if someone was to challenge you and say, ‘Hey, you’re crazy, how can you have a phobia of xyz’ because none of us like to confront our own fears and phobias and be criticised for the phobia we have. The crazy thing is when we do have a scary phobia we push and fight with these thoughts and feelings and force them back down where they came from, because these are thoughts that we do not like.
You are probably wondering what authority I have to address these issues with you. My advice is based on both formal
