This book is dedicated to my beautiful, caring and selfless mum and my dear brother for supporting and encouraging me to believe in myself and for persuading me to keep going with my artwork.

To my late dad, a distinguished, compassionate and wonderful human being who wanted me to follow in his footsteps to become a Lawyer instead of pursuing a career in Art, which he saw as a hobby. I dedicate this book to him and, if he is watching, to say that I tried to manage both.

To my readers, who may be able to relate to some of these stories and who will realise that managing staff in line with Employment Law does not have to be too daunting.

To all the remarkable small businesses throughout the UK who are not appreciated enough and not given the support they deserve by the government. It is heart-breaking to see so many great British talents go to waste.

Finally, to The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, where I was called to the Bar before cross qualifying as a Solicitor, and for inspiring me to complete my book.

This is a book with a series of light-hearted short stories to help small businesses get up to speed with Employment Law and Procedure in the UK in accordance with the Employment Rights Act 1998 and the Equality Act 2010. The characters and events depicted in these stories are fictitious. Any similarity to any person is merely coincidental.
