    Chapter 1

    The Excellence of the Anointing

There are three qualitative aspects to make God's power to manifest: the faith, the anointing, and the fasting, prayer, praises, and worships. Each one is different, yet they are all connected and combined to manifest God's power. The anointing is the power of God released by the Holy Spirit upon His servants in executing powerful spiritual works, like prophecy, healing, miracles, deliverance, etc. For example, Jesus said in Luke 4:18–19, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. These mighty works are needed even in today's ministries to edify the body of Christ and operate a living church for God's kingdom.

The works of the anointing are greatly exemplified in Psalm 18:33, He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

The anointing of God equips the God's servant with a catalytic and extraordinary speed and strength and makes them stand out in high places. When they choose to run, the anointing will empower them not to be weary. And when they walk, for as long as they want, the anointing will make them not to faint. The anointing fills their labors and efforts with extraordinary speed and supernatural strength. Their aims and goals as they relate to the ministry become much faster to achieve. For example, if it takes three days for ten doctors to perform a surgery that may not even be successful on a patient, it may just take five to ten minutes or less of a fervent prayer of God's anointed servant to minister a total healing to that person.

I had a personal experience to testify to this. My wife was with the last pregnancy and had two weeks left for the baby to be delivered. The physician had previously reached a conclusion with us for a cesarean birth because the previous babies were delivered through that way and had left the cesarean scar on the inside of the womb. However, as the days set forth for the delivery approached, we were given a very bad news that the umbilical cord to the baby had grown right from the cesarean scar on the inside of the mother's womb. The danger here was that the physician proclaimed that the only way to make the birth happen through the C-section was to cut out the entire womb to prevent fatal bleeding during the C-section.

For a young woman with many years ahead, she was very worried. For me, I thought that shouldn't be a problem. After all, we didn't want to have more babies after that one. However, my wife felt different and was very worried to plan to lose her womb at such an early age. That was when I realized that I needed the intervention of Jesus for the surgery that the doctors couldn't do without causing unintended damage. We went back home thinking through this. Eventually, the next day, I called her and began to pray for her for the Lord to move on her. After the prayer, she testified that there was an unusual movement in her womb. I thought that was a good testimony because it signified that something happened although I couldn't figure out what exactly it was.

On our next visit to the hospital, the OBGYN technician did the ultra-scan again and realized that the umbilical cord had shifted completely away from the sight of the previous scar to another location. We were overwhelmed with joy. Eventually, the cesarean birth was successful without any fatal bleeding.

Only Jesus could have done this, when our doctor had run out of choices that could safely deliver the baby without fatal bleeding.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

The anointing serves as a catalyst to make the aims and goals in the ministry become much faster to achieve.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (1 John 2:27)

The anointing becomes a personal teacher to the servant of God with excellent endowment of the understanding and knowledge of the Word of God that is not directly from man. It teaches the mastery of skills and knowledge that surpasses the knowledge of man.

He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. (Psalm 18:34)

And it shall come to pass in that
