EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN has a strong desire deep inside, to be used by God in a powerful way. God is looking for the vessels that will go for Him to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. He is still crying out from heaven: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? (Isa. 6:8).

Perhaps you think that this challenge is only to those who were chosen to be ministers before they were born to this world, but not so. Jesus said: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17–18).

Dear friend, as you read this book, it will prepare you, and give you the true knowledge of how to be not only a minister, but also a godly and holy vessel of the Master’s use.

    YOUR DIVINE CALLING

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

    —EPHESIANS 2:10, KJV

IWANT TO CHALLENGE you to respond to what Jesus, our Lord, commanded us to do after He left this earth. It is your and my responsibility as God’s children to be His messengers, to be the light and the salt of this world. Is it not frightening when we hear our Lord saying from His Word, He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad (Matt. 12:30)? We were not made just to be saved and go to heaven, but the Bible says God created you and me for good works. But what are good works if not the works of our Lord Jesus—to preach, to teach, to heal, and to cast out demons—and above all, to do the works of charity?

We read in John 10:32 (KJV), Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father. And in John 4:34 He says, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. It is important that we, whether we are Christians or Christian workers, be focused on the heavenly things more than on any other thing on earth. When Jesus was twelve years old, He said to his parents, Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? If we will commit ourselves to take care of the heavenly needs, the Lord will take care of all our earthly needs.

Maybe you are asking yourself, or you are asking the Lord, But where can I go and what can I do for God? I think it is a good question that deserves a good answer. There are multitudes of people that need healing in their bodies. Many are tormented by the demons and need deliverance. Many churches are dry and have never seen the real power of God in their congregations. Millions have not heard the true gospel; even though they have heard the name of Jesus, they do not know the reason for His coming and what He did for them on the cross. God is looking for someone who will go to them. He needs vessels to fill, instruments to use; and that instrument and vessel can be you, if you respond to His call.

But though the Lord already commanded us to do all the works that He commanded in His Word, He did not command us to rush right now and start laying hands on every sick person you see on the street, or to start casting out demons from the first sinner you meet on your way. Neither do I challenge you to do it right now, and not even right after you finish reading this book, because before Jesus sent His disciples to minister to others, He gave them power and authority. Saint Matthew
