Behold, I am coming quickly, and my rewards are with me to pay for those who deserve it.

This book is dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the pioneer and the authority behind the motives and the contents of this book. He has given me the opening eyes, spiritual ability, and understanding heart to realize the mystery behind the unlimited ability given to his body on the face of the earth today, just as it has effectively worked in the lives and days of the patriarchs of faith, so that we all will be able to step onto his terrain to begin to reign and rule just as he desires it to be in order to be able to effectively occupy his position till he comes and usher Jesus in to finish the work he started from the beginning of the world. To him be all the glory, the entire honor, and all the adoration. He is the lord of my life.

And to all laborers in the vineyard who have been laboring endlessly to bring this new move to reality and to affect the entire world by electrifying the cosmos with the powers of the age to come as deposited into each and every one through the implanting of the Holy Spirit revolution in the inner spirit of all saints. Rising to the challenge the earth is being subjected to in the area of resistance to the devilish work of the enemy against the virtues and values of the Almighty God.

Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirits. And there are differences of administration, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all. But the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same spirit; to another faith by the same spirit; to another the gifts of Healing by the same Spirit; to another working of miracles; to another prophesy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the self-same spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. The scriptures quoted above are supernatural abilities of the Holy Spirit that gives born-again believers the ability to operate with the same power that Jesus Christ walked in while he was on this earth. Jesus said, When you see me, you have seen the Father (John 14:9). The supernatural life of the Father that manifested in the life of Jesus was a foretaste of the powers of the age to come. We, who are people of the kingdom, have just tasted the supernatural life of the world to come. In this book, The Powers of the Age to Come , Prophet Ayobami, through the Holy Scriptures, shows us holy men of God who demonstrated the powers of the age to come. As you read through the pages of this book, it will ignite a passion in you that will inspire you, and you will want to manifest those powers in your own life.

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Preface

Athorough analysis of the church of Christ today has shown the level of stagnation that the followers and worshippers of this divinely ordained relationship with the Creator of the creation has been. This was launched by the life and teachings of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, during his mission to atone the structure and composition of the earth. This was a result of the fall of Adam and Eve from the initial purpose of creation God meant them for, due to their disobedience and submission to the craftiness and beguiling of Satan while they were in the garden of Eden. The redemption of humanity from this falling nature was renewed and reengineered through the shedding of Jesus Christ’s blood, the only qualified material that was authorized and approved to accomplish this mission. God is faithful, and he beats the devil’s imagination through this awesome sacrifice of his only Son and eventually restores the promises of eternal salvation, redemption, and deliverance to humanity upon which everyone alive today relies.

However, the work and the promises of God are continuous, and he has laid it down diligently in a progressive manner. The growth of the body of Christ is progressive, and it is backed by heaven’s commandments without limitation and with increasing knowledge, understanding, and God’s power. Believers of my generation have emphasized so much salvation and deliverance and have mentioned little about revival and revolution. We have only inculcated revival in the theoretical sense just to gather people together with the aim of populating the church membership, and we have not really completed the job of demonstrating God’s unlimited power practically, which he has granted and given unto man immediately after they were created.

And God said; Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26–28)

These oversights have made the church of the present day a little weaker than they were supposed to be. It has also left many in the midst of indecision because they are only enjoying a one-man show from the pulpit in assembly halls or churches, but the members of the ministries are not taught how to be independent in God’s principles, powers, and purposes on their own by equipping them with the proper armor they need to combat principalities and powers of darkness. The church has read about various life occurrences and activities in the Bible that are earth thrilling, shaking, and quaking, but they have not seen such activities occur in their present-day life. This makes the Bible look as ordinary historical or philosophical book as other books of various philosophers who have caused many to commit errors in following false religions and doctrines because they have not seen what the God of the Bible has done to the people who were connected to it presently as preached by the preachers of today.

Saints have emphasized only on the outer court and the holy place in practice. They have not driven down the significance and impact of pressing into the holiest of all. They have emphasized salvation and Pentecost. They have not exposed the powers contained and to be encountered in the tabernacle of promise. They have relied too much on the anointing. They have not connected the saints to the manifest glory of his presence. They have preached so fervently on baptism of water and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They have not introduced the congregation to embrace the baptism of fire. They have emphasized the just shall live by faith. And they have not impacted their generation with the physical demonstration of God’s unlimited power.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us. (2 Corinthians 4:7)

They have taught saints about defense against the devil. They have not declared dominion over them. They have prayed for the sick and diseased to get out of their situation. They have not tapped into the significance of an earthly body that neither sickness nor disease can associate or tamper with. We have memorized the Bible verse my body is the temple of God. And cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and all kinds of diseases are still ripping the bodies off.

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:16–18)

What do the churches of my days need to know that we don’t know? Why are we in the situation we are in now? How shall we come out of our comfort zone and live up to expectations and the task of occupying till he comes? This was the motivation behind this book, derived through the help of the Holy Spirit, so that it may stir up a spiritual revolution within the body of Christ collectively and within individual’s heart consistently, so that we will possess and promote the bannered name, which we have been named in heaven and act accordingly. The shepherds need to do more to break the veil on the face of the believers by opening their spiritual understanding so that they will be able to advance to this level of occupation till he comes. The Bible says, Greater of the works that Jesus Christ did shall we do if we believe and call on his name. Where have we kept this promise and commandment? We should not be limited in our thinking that we cannot do what the patriarchs did because they are different from us. Saints they are not. They are just as we are, and they lived just as we are living today. The only thing they did was they pressed into heaven by transcending the realm of mortality to immortality. They were able to ascend and descend at the same time into the throne room of God to bring a word for now that made a difference in their generation’s life. They were not limited in their understanding and their ability. They believed that as the Lord of Host have authorized them to do anything, so shall it be. It is done. I hope the church leaders of my days will realize that they need to draw this generation into this level of spiritual understanding and practice authoritatively so that the congregation behind will not be empty-handed in the time to come. Most especially this era that the devil’s agents and cohorts are tormenting the virtues and the values of God’s heritage and what they stand for. We all should be able to rise and make a declaration that his kingdom is here already, and his will be done on earth as it was done in heaven. The Bible says that the whole world is waiting for one thing: The earnest manifestation of the sons and daughters of God.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (Romans 8:19–22)

Brethren, this book is not written to attack the body of Christ or the leadership of the church, but rather to create a reawakening in the spirit of our primary assignment on the face of the earth that we are created to accomplish. It is my belief and prayer that as many as will read this book, they will receive an encounter with the Almighty God that will redefine and redirect their vision and mission to be able to establish his commission on earth as it was done in heaven. Let us rise to the challenge and make our presence recognized on this cosmos. I pray that God will overhaul our spiritual think tank and reenergize our capacity and potentials for spiritual warfare and spiritual immunization for our future assurance and stability. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
