All throughout history God has desired to have a people that would walk so closely to Him that they would live within the glorious manifestation of experiencing heaven on earth. Adam was placed in a garden without lack or need for external supply (Genesis 2:15-16). Abraham was blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). As Moses extended his hands mighty signs and supernatural wonders were unleashed that displayed the power and reality of a living God (Exodus 10:21; 14:16).

The children of Israel lived within this extraordinary dimension of favor, where the heavens opened up and rained down inexplicable heavenly bread for them to eat (Psalm 78:24), as they were guided by a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21).

The testimonies of countless men and women experiencing this dynamic power of a supernatural God are beautifully woven throughout scripture… not simply as a historical account of ancient times, but more as a tapestry of invitation into the glorious promises that have been made available to us today as co-laborers with Christ (1 Corinthians 3:9).

While Jesus walked on earth his ministry of miracles was overflowing in abundance (John 21:25). He healed the sick (Acts 10:38)… He caused blind eyes to be opened (John 9:7)… and deaf ears to be repaired (Mark 7:31-37). He cleansed the lepers (Luke 17:14)… He preached the good news of the gospel (Matthew 4:23)… and ministered deliverance for those who were bound (Mark 5:15). Jesus was controversial… the religious spirits of the day wanted to kill him… He offended the proud… He promoted the lowly… His methods were unusual… His wisdom was unparalleled. This anointing came at a cost. But the price He paid made a way for us to enter into this realm of Kingdom power when He said: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12 KJV, italics added).

I first heard about Hermes’ powerful ministry of healing and revival while I was ministering in the nation of Finland several years ago. Some of my friends there had hosted his ministry and witnessed some of the most remarkable healing miracles in the faith-filled atmosphere that he created. They said he carried a breakthrough anointing; for as the miracles began to happen not only was the gospel preached, but the genuine message of the Kingdom of God was displayed for all to see! These miraculous manifestations of the power of God opened up many more doors of opportunity for Hermes to preach the gospel throughout Finland and other places within Europe. Introduction

We are living in critical times, in an age filled with sin and unbelief, uncertainty and anxiety, which requires bold and clear measures by the Church. She needs to be at her strongest now, demonstrating the Kingdom of God with the power of the resurrected Lord.

People are longing to see the real deal, a God relevant to these times, this world, their lives—a trustworthy person who can give them hope built upon a secure foundation. We must remember what Paul spoke of in Romans 8:19; when he said the world is in eager expectation for the manifestation of the sons of God. In this case, many in the Church, fall short, because they present a theoretical religion, which brings little change to the hearts of those in need of powerful transformation.

It is hard to imagine the love of a God whose desire it is to heal, (deliver, save, restore, transform, have relationship with us), by way of a three-point sermon delivered by someone who relies solely on his or her own intellect to write it. And while yes, the Word has power, how much more so when it goes forth by way of a believer yielded to the Holy Spirit, and receiving revelation of the very heart of God for His people. True followers of the principles of His Word, heed the promise of Jesus doing all that He did, and even greater works, manifesting His power to those who have eagerly expected it. The third point of every sermon, message or witness, should be in the doing and demonstration, in the contending for a manifestation of God’s incomparable power. Miracles will happen when we preach, pray, deliver the Word as the early apostles did, with the same essence, compassion, purpose, and passion! In fact, every time Jesus and His disciples spoke about the Kingdom of God they demonstrated the power of the kingdom with signs and wonders following their message. Many today speak about the kingdom, but that is not enough. We must demonstrate and manifest the Kingdom of God with His power and glory!

As a child of God, you too are called to release to others what He has placed inside of you, but first you need to learn and experience what is already yours.

CHAPTER 1

Why Miracles?

"They were convinced by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power of God’s Spirit. In this way I have fully presented the good news of Christ from Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum." (Romans 15:19 NLT)

People who receive miracles become proof of the reality of God. And while there are those who will try to explain the miracles away, supernatural manifestations of the power of God increase faith levels, and draw people to Jesus—He suddenly becomes real and alive to them in a personal way. As Paul said, they were convinced by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power of God’s Spirit. In confirming the message through the demonstration of God’s power, the apostle fully presented the good news of Christ… Have we convinced the world around us, even our families of the reality of God?

How much has the contemporary church followed after Paul’s example? Could it be that the modern church has forgotten the value and importance of the supernatural in the preaching of the gospel? Instead, many have come up with excuses to justify their lack of power and exchanged the supernatural element for human technique and theories of self-motivation.

There is a great misunderstanding in the minds of some believers regarding miracles and the supernatural power of God.

The first thing that comes into the minds of some when they hear about such things is "Why should we care about people being healed if the most important thing is salvation?" I often hear preachers say that they don’t really care about seeing miracles in their ministries because they are more focused on seeing people saved,
