    About the Author

    Introduction

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

God has laid upon my heart to do an in-depth study on the Holy Spirit. As I started to study and do research on the Holy Spirit, I began to receive revelations from the Lord, who he really was. He is the Spirit of the most high God, who lives on the inside of us to lead us and guide us. He gives us the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, and walk in the power of his anointing.

Then he began to put into my heart to study about the spiritual gifts, and I began to see in the Word of God that spiritual gifts were given by the Holy Spirit to every born again believer. So I have put them together. I pray that you will be blessed and helped in your spiritual walk with the Lord.

    Who is the Holy Spirit?

Your spiritual walk with God can be one which lacks spirituality and intimacy unless you know who the Holy Spirit is, unless you become acquainted with him. You can have knowledge of God, yet not really know him. For example, you have knowledge of our president but you have no intimate relationship with him so you really don’t know him.

We begin with the Word of God when we want to know what the Spirit of God is like and how he operates in the lives of God’s people. Throughout the Bible, it is assumed that the Holy Spirit is no more and no less than God himself. He is called the Spirit of the Lord (1 Kings 18:12) and the Spirit of Jesus (Acts 16:7). In Luke 11:13, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the gift of the Father. Paul announced that the Lord is the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:17). Peter rebuked Ananias for attempted deception. He told him you have lied to the Holy Spirit; you have not lied to a human being but to God (Acts 5:3–4).

When Jesus spoke about the unforgivable sin he described it as blasphemy, which means speaking against or rejecting not the Father or even Jesus but rather the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31–32).

It is because the Holy Spirit is God, that scripture describes him as possessing all the essential characteristics that are the sole privilege of God himself. He is…

    Holy—1 Corinthians 6:19

    Eternal—Hebrew 9:14

    Omnipotent—Luke 1:35–37—He is all powerful.

    Omnipresent—Psalm 139:7—He exists everywhere.

Omniscient—1 Corinthians 2:10–11—He knows all things.

The Spirit of the Lord was prophesied by Isaiah 11:2 to rest upon the coming Messiah which was Jesus, the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit is not just an arm or leg of the Lord. He is a person in his own right and exists as part of the godhead. He dwells in God’s people and is therefore personal to each of us.

He is the omnipotent one. He has infinite power. He is the spirit of the almighty God. He is omnipresent. He is the universal presence of God. He indwells every born-again believer.

When we are filled with the Holy Ghost, we become born again and adopted into the kingdom of God.

    David asked of God where can I go from your presence;

If I ascend into heaven, you are there; If I make my bed in hell, you are there; If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand shall hold me.
