About this ebook

The emphasis of ministry at this time is becoming a people through whom the Lord can minister to others. Jesus Christ was the connecting link between God and man. He said, "No man comes unto the Father, but by Me" (John 14:5). Then He said to His disciples (and that includes us), "As My Father has sent Me, even so send I you" (John 20:21). That is the purpose and ministry of the Body of Christ. Be God's gate - His two-way gate - that gives Him access to others and others access to Him.

    A Mansion for the Lord

The Lord is working to knit us together with one heart under His Lordship. He is creating one Spirit in Him. John 3 speaks of being born of the Spirit. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God (verse 3): Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God…and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (verses 5,6). When you are born of the Holy Spirit, He does not bring to birth some other kind of spirit. As you are born of the Spirit, your spirit is becoming a holy spirit.

We understand that in this day the Lord God is creating Himself within a people (I Thessalonians 1:10; II Corinthians 4:10-11; 6:16). The fullness of God dwelt in the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:19). Well, the same thing must become true for the Body of Christ. What we have known in the past, as the Body of Christ, does not really measure up to what the Scriptures say about it. But we find evidence in this day that God is in the process of bringing forth His presence in a people. His life is coming forth in us, and the Body of Christ is going to be the vehicle for God, the channel for Him to flow through.

Yesterday was Passover. Today begins the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Leaven is a type of the sin nature of man, so unleavened bread represents Christ. During the time of the Feast of Unleavened Bread all the leaven was swept out of the house. Spiritually, that is happening here in these services. The Holy Spirit is cleaning our house, too. He is sweeping out the sinful adamic nature, so that the presence of the Lord can move in. That is what God is doing at this time. He is dealing with the leaven in the Body of Christ. I realize that much of the Christian world is looking for an escape route to their mansions in the sky. But the Lord is creating a mansion here on earth, a mansion for His dwelling. That is the thing of utmost importance at this time.

The Lord spoke to Moses, and said, Tell the children of Israel to build Me a sanctuary, a place for Me to dwell in their midst (Exodus 25:1-8). That is what the Lord is doing today! He is building Himself a mansion made of living stones (I Peter 2:5). He is coming forth in us (II Thessalonians 1:10). Each one of us doesn’t become a house for the Lord, but together we become His mansion.

This is the time of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. We are believing for the Holy Spirit to sweep us out, to deal with our human nature, and to create a dwelling place for the Lord. Now don’t expect God to do this without our cooperation. We must take the initiative in this process. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. James 4:8. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6. If you don’t hunger and thirst, you won’t be filled.

II Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

He has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness. You could say, Well, where is mine? It has been given! It is a provision! Everything the Lord has done is a provision. It is our responsibility to reach in and take what God has provided for us. We should understand that. Isn’t that the way of simple salvation? Jesus died on the cross, shedding His blood that we might be forgiven. But that didn’t automatically save everybody. People have to accept the provision that was made, and that goes for everything else. If you want to be a living stone in His mansion, reach in and take the provision.

    They Ministered Unto the Lord

Acts 13:1-4 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate Me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost… (Notice what is said here. They laid their hands on Saul and Barnabas and sent them. Then it says, So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost…), departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

Notice the order of ministry. First, they ministered unto the Lord. Then they ministered within the Body of the church. Thirdly, they sent ministry out into the world. First in importance is ministry unto the Lord, second is Body ministry, and third is evangelistic ministry.

The most important thing for us to learn is how to minister unto the Lord. Christianity, in general, has reversed the order. They place the emphasis upon evangelism.

Learn how to minister unto the Lord, to worship Him. Everything else must flow out of that. You will never have a walk with God until you learn how to minister unto Him. Is there
