About this ebook

Faith In The Hands Of The Holy Spirit: This book informs us on the faith that works. Generally we have one particlar faith, but not the saving faith. the faith I am speaking of is the saving faith, which is the one that comes by hearing of the gospel of Christ. In this case, I observe that it is one thing to receive faith from the gospel; which is very important. But the most important thing is putting the faith to work. When the faith received in the gospel is not continually in the hands of the Holy Spirit who brought it, to drive it; such faith is not at work. Even when it is forced to work, it is said to be driven to oppose the will of God, because it is not in the hands of the Holy Spirit to drive it into God's plan. St James informs us that the faith that does not work is dead. He refers this on love and caring for one another. James 2:14-16. connect this to what St Paul says in Romans 5 vers 5, we will see that the Holy Spirit mentioned, is the very one that must operate the faith in our hearts to do God's will in loving and caring for one another; or this faith is said to be dead as St James says. The faith in the hands of the Holy Spirit has the ability to grow, because the person that feeds it is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit nurses the faith and at the same time strengthens it. Only in the hands of the Holy Spirit that faith plays good roles, for the Spirit knows the mind of God. One might say "I have faith." I agree. But such of faith must be questioned of it source and by whose hands it operates; for its may be confused for the saving faith. The faith that dose not come from the gospel can never be given to the Holy Spirit to drive, for it's not from Him and can never rest in His hands. We all want our faith to work, but the sad thing is this; the saving faith is not found in every man, but are given to us from God through the gospel of Christ. Unhealthy faith needs to be put back in the hands of the Holy Spirit or it shipwrecked.

    ABOUT THE AUTHOR

    Dedication

This book is dedicated affectionately to the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, an emerging church without wrinkles.

    INTRODUCTION

We are living in the age, where many play Christianity without acquiring the knowledge on what are the breath, length, depth and the height of life in Christianity. This book calls for our attention to discover the secrets of this life. Christianity shows us that the life of those who only profess the faith but lack the true knowledge about Christ is nothing but mere philosophy. These ones trusted in nullity and not on God.

Those who profess Christianity and yet have not discovered the power beneath the religion they claim to profess are like those who float on the sea while others are in the depth of the sea gathering the treasures of life. I observed that the religion called Christianity has its tradition. It is the life based on faith, which is powered by the Holy Spirit.  If we claim we have faith and it is not powered by the Holy Spirit, then it cannot be the true faith, for faith must only be operational in the hands of the Holy Spirit.  The faith that is given from the gospel must rest in the hands of the Holy Spirit before it can work. If not, the person who claims to have faith gets exhausted trying to walk by faith without the Holy Spirit which quickens the faith. So let the reader relax and feed on food and not on winds. For the book which could not show us how we could attain a true Christian life, is wind and not food for the soul, no matter the author. But with the help of the Holy Spirit we have faith in the hands of the Holy Spirit.

The gospel is the truth, but to actualize the truth is in the hands of the Holy Spirit.

    CHAPTER ONE

    THE SPIRIT OF FAITH

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak...2Cor 4:13.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of faith. He is the power of faith. Faith is only an application, which brings us up or raises us up from the fallen state where Adam kept us to the place where Christ brought us to be. That faith is applicable is due to the Spirit that applies it or puts it to work. It is an application because it works as a particular software which the Spirit operates from the word alone. Faith does not work alone but works along with other providence, like love, grace, and hope.  Faith is said to have the Spirit that wrought it, because it gives knowledge to him who possesses it. In this case we will further understand this when we study about the woman of the issue of blood in Mark 5. After she heard the gospel, she received faith which gave her the knowledge on what she must do to get her healing. For she said, if only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well. Mark 5:28. She never thought of this until faith came. But suppose I should put her testimony among those of the heroes of faith as given in the scripture, in Hebrew 11. I will put it this way: by faith she received an understanding of what she must do to get healed, and she acted on that knowledge and was healed. The understanding is the work of the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of faith. He is the very Spirit that supplies faith. Heb. 11:3 says "by faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God." Faith gives a clear understanding of the things of God, because it brings it to light and makes it pellucid. The knowledge we received by faith is an act of the Holy Spirit. In this state, it is said that the Holy Spirit is acting in this way for faith. The Holy Spirit acts in different dimensions in each of God’s providence which brings salvation to mankind. The character He displays on faith is different from that of grace and it is different from that which He acts upon love and upon hope. The apostle John and the Apostle Paul do not possess the same character in persons; on the other hand, both of them possess one thing in common which is life that operates in Christ. Therefore the Spirit manifests His fruit in man in their different ways. Each possesses one common personality who operates in them for salvation, that is the Holy Spirit who supplies them faith from the word and puts it to work. Grace is said to be the saving power of God, but, it requires faith to work for our salvation. By grace you are saved through faith. Eph.2:8. The character of faith always puts grace to work. When we come to the four fruit of the Holy Spirit; love is said to be the chief because it gives the direction to all the gifts. It directs them to the person to whom they ought to bring salvation. Love points out whom the Holy Spirit should give faith, supply grace, and give hope of external life. I have already told you, and you don’t believe me, Jesus replied. "The proof is in the miracles I do in the name of my Father. But you don’t believe me because you are not part of my flock. Jon 10:25-26. The Spirit needs to supply the believing capacity to those appointed for salvation. This is done because God tells or directs His Spirit on whom He should wrought the work of salvation upon. "God is love" says the Apostle John (See 1John 4:8) "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion on". Rom
