About this ebook

Because faith is so vital to all our hopes, so necessary to the fulfillment of every aspiration of our hearts, we dare take nothing for granted concerning it. Anything that carries with it so much of weal or woe, which indeed decides our heaven or our hell, is too important to neglect. We simply must not allow ourselves to be uninformed or misinformed. This book teaches an overlooked but, important insight about what faith really is. I pray you will download this book, and learn the truth about faith. With that truth you will walk in victory with our Lord Jesus. Amen!

I began writing in my late teenage years. I had no intention of writing books and publishing them. The Lord placed on my heart to begin writing my first book in 2013; it took me over a year to write it. Many people have told me that when they started reading my first book “Broken Door”, it was hard for them to put it aside. Then the Lord gave me the unction to write my second book, “Faith is What?” Not long after I finished ‘Broken Door.’ ‘The Big Lie about Tattoos” is my third book as of this year 2016.I have worked in the ministry since 1985; I started preaching in prisons, in retirement homes and as a guest speaker for many churches. In addition, I started preaching out in the streets, at bars, parks, restaurants; I would bring my guitar to the parks and restaurants and sing songs that the Lord had me write. I was age 54; when the Lord led me to start writing books, I’m now 64; I’ve had some people tell me I’m just a keyboard preacher, but, I believe in that old saying,” The pen is mightier than the sword.” Comments are welcome, rather they are positive or negative. Thank YouMichael Dunhill

Faith! Is What. - Michael Dunhill

I want to dedicate this book to my daughter and son in law and to my Grand Children.

Introduction: The purpose of this book is to hopefully help God's people to understand the true meaning of faith in order to have a closer walk with Jesus. Faith is the only thing pleases God. In, Hebrews 11: 6 it reads without faith it is impossible to please God. When I was a younger believer I didn't understand faith at all. I had heard Hebrews 11:6. I didn't understand it, though. From that point on I started a quest to find out what this word Faith meant. In this book I will be sharing my experience of what the Spirit of the Lord taught me about faith and it's true meaning. My prayer is that anyone who reads this book will gain the insight that is so vital for our journey on the believer's path; to a deeper relationship with Jesus. Remember the Lord tells us in his Holy script, (The Bible) found in

Psalm chapter 37 verse 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighted in his way. (KJV)

My prayer also is that we as believers will grow to become what God intended us to be. Please read this book with an open heart towards Jesus. Allow your ears to be centered on His voice only. Thank you.

    CHAPTER ONE

    THE HYPE

When I first became a believer it was back in Nineteen-Eighty-Five. Although, at the age of eight, I joined a church. The Pastors name was Rev. White; he’ll never be forgotten by me. He said, God still speaks, even today. He was answering a question of mine. Rev. White placed his hand over my heart and said, You will hear the Lord right here, in your heart. From the very day Pastor White shared his wisdom with me; I've heard God. I was not born again yet; that happened in Eighty-Five.

I gave my life to Jesus and, attended quite a few traditional churches. When the pastor would preach about faith, he would just say the word Faith he never explained the meaning of this word. I was quite perplexed about this word called Faith. It became a stirring need deep inside for me to study the issue. The biggest mistake made by me was to focus all my attention on books, videos, and tapes that were put together by our leaders; concerning faith. Looking for answers I found myself attending Full Gospel Churches. I only thing I learned about faith was it was difficult.

The messages being preached sounded as if faith was a magic wand that one waved towards God. This wand was able to move God's hand for them. These pastors are in what is called, The Free Movement Their message are Get Aggressive with Your Faith "Learn to go boldly before the throne of God; because we are His children this entitles us to have whatever we ask. The scripture they use to back this up is found in, Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) it reads,

Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace.

This was only part of the passage. The rest of the scripture says; That we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need.

Pastors were delivering this message as if we should jump in God's face and tell Him what we wanted. They’d say, We need to be bold; not scared. We are His children we are kids of the king so we are entitled to everything our Daddy God has, in His vast chamber of wealth. Say this out loud then tell me; does it sound right? I wouldn't dare attempt to make demands on God.

Continuing my quest to find the meaning of faith I studied books by Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland & Oral Roberts. (To name a few
