About this ebook

Do you sometimes feel alone? Do you sometimes feel like God is trying to get through to you, but you just don't feel connected?

The main question you must ask yourself is, Do you really have a relationship with God?

In God's Word, He requires holiness, for He is holy. In For Them Who Have Ears to Hear: Holiness or Hell, author and Evangelist Earl E. Caroll explains how most Christians can miss the mark trying to do all they know how to do. In his book, he will address the kingdom of God and the difference between the church and the gospel, keys to God's kingdom, and more.

With his unique insight into godly knowledge, he will provide insight into some of the age-old questions like the following:

What really happened in the Garden of Eden?

Who is Jesus coming back for?

Are we really all God's children?

Is holiness really that important?

And more!

    About the Author

    Introduction

The most perfect and common gift of God that has been given to men is time. What we are and what you become is how well you manage your time. Time will continue no matter what you choose to do within it. It continues whether you succeed and achieve your goals or spin your time running around in circles and achieving nothing. My desire is that those who would take the time to read this book would have used that time wisely and gain a more positive outlook on their Christian walk in this life.

God, who is our creator, has put a man in time to decide where he or she wants to spin eternity. Time will change everything in a person's life, but it is given equally to all men twenty-four hours in a day, thirty days in a month, and twelve months in a year. Whatever you invest your time in is what you will become. So you don't have time to waste time. When it comes to where you wish to spin your eternity, you must use your time wisely because, once the time is gone, you can never get it back again.

Time waits for no one. It is God's gift to man, and it's for man to manage his time wisely to bring glory and honor to God and to achieve His goals, a plan that He has for your life. Write a plan down every day on how you plan to spend your time in that day. Just make sure that you put God first. Protect your time and don't doubt God's Word.

Once you have believed that Jesus is Christ the Son of God and ask God to come into your heart and forgive you of all your sins and believe that He raised Jesus from the dead, you are saved. It is not by work but by faith in God and His Word, and he who endures in this life to the end would obtain the promises of God.

The Word of God says that the race that we run in this life is not given to the swift or to those who might be strong but to those who endure to the end. This means then that you must cross God's finish line to get into heaven. You can't do it your way or try and make it on your own. It is not a democracy where you get a vote and use your own rules. God said, Be holy for I the Lord God I'm holy. The most important thing to gain in this life is to obtain the kingdom of heaven, so when you die and leave this world, you will spend eternity with God.

I was born in the United States in the city of Saint Louis in the 1950s. I lived and grew up there with my parents and grandparents. My life was centered around the church where I spent all my Sundays all day and most of Sunday evenings. We sometimes ate lunch and dinner at church. At night after church, we would have to listen to church services that came on the radio. There was no television on that day.

My Christian experience started in a Baptist church where I received the Lord and was baptized at the age of seven. Upon completing high school, I went to an ITT technical school where I majored in mechanical and in structural engineering. When I graduated from ITT, I went into the military, the United States Navy, where I served over eight years at which time I was called by God to the ministry.

While serving in the military, He told me that I would be taught by the Holy Spirit and at which time I started studying God's Word and reading books and studying one of God's generals—Smith Wigglesworth who had been known to have the power of God in his ministry. While studying Smith Wigglesworth's life, I begin to apply a lot of the things he had done in his life that pertain to God. One was never being without a Bible on his persons, and all my spare time was devoted to reading God's Word even if only for five minutes.

I did not read newspapers. I did not look at television in the early mornings. I studied from three to six o'clock every morning every day before I went to work. I wanted the power of God in my life to do the same works that Jesus did, and I can truly say there are many times the Spirit of the living God showed up, and miracles would happen by God's mighty power.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, I started working with different churches as I was led by the Spirit of God. In those churches, I will work in different parts of the ministry, such as assistant pastor or elder in the church, and I did prison ministry also. It was in the intercessory prayer service where God used me more greatly in the beginning. I was ordained as a minister in the 1980s. I did go to a school of ministry known as the Rhema School of Ministry in the early 1990s where I received my diploma after three years of hard study.

I became a member of Crenshaw Christian Center but worked with other ministries as an evangelist. For many years, I worked as an evangelist; and in 2002, I started a Christian elementary school in Fontana, California. This Christian school started at kindergarten and went to the eighth grade. The school ran successfully for twelve years. Before closing, the name of the school was Life Covenant Christian Academy at which time I was the CEO and president, and my wife led the school as its principal.

God has blessed me with a great family. My wife and I, with God's help, raised three great sons who are now married and living successful lives and have their own families. We have so far been blessed with nine grandkids. One of the main reasons I decided to write this book is that many Christians have come to believe that the kingdom of heaven is a democracy and that God is like a president. They think that they can believe His Word however they want because they know that God is merciful, so they think that they can take His Word apart and believe the parts that they want and throw the rest out.

I'm here to tell you that with God, it is holiness or hell. You would live holy, or you will see hell and that has nothing to do with how merciful God is. First, you need to understand that God is the King of Heaven, and the King's word is not to be taken apart. I believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God that was written for men to teach us how to manage our lives as being believers and Christians. In the Bible, the Word of God says, But be ye doers of word and not hearers only deceiving your own selves (James 19:22).

This is to get you to adhere to the instructions, and God being King, His Words should be followed with no questions. I say again—with no questions—because the King's authority or Word is believed and not subject to be dissected. When the King gives the command, it is followed to the letter. How much more should you obey the Word of the King of Heaven without taking His Word apart to do only those parts of His Word you feel will fit into your life.

The Word of God says in the book of 1 Peter 1:16, Because it is written be holy for, I am holy. God teaches us to obey His Word by teaching
