I want to first give honor to God for giving me another chance to do something productive with my life and advance His Kingdom in the process.
To my wife Jeannetta Regan, the woman of my dreams, when God gave me you, He gave me His very best. You are the wind beneath my wings, Jeannetta R. Regan. I thank you for your love that is unconditional and your support of everything I do. I love you, my Dear.
To the Regan and the Massey family, I thank you so much for your love and support. I appreciate everyone who believes in me and I appreciate those who support this ministry and everything we do at CJR Ministries and you know who you are. I thank God for the people that God has placed in my life who allow me to be who I am and to do what God has called me to do.
Thank you, Momma, for your love and support. Proverbs 23:25 says, Let your father and mother be glad and let her who bore you rejoice.
I’m so happy to see you rejoicing—it does me good. I’m so glad I can be a part of the reason for your joy.
Dedication
This book is dedicated to my Grandma, Mrs. Alene Regan, who made sure the Lord would not forget about me. God kept His promise to you, Grandma. His word won’t fail. Your prayers have been answered. Thank you, Grandma, for taking me to church. Hallelujah!
Introduction
24560.pngI have been walking with the Lord for many years now. I grew up in the church; my Grandmother was faithful in getting us to church on Sunday morning and Wednesday night Bible study. In all of my years of going to the church, I had never read God’s word with clarity. I read it before when I was around 17 years old, but they were just words in a book. It wasn’t until 1999 that I read it again, but this time I was determined to gain some understanding of what I was reading. Throughout my reading and studying and being around other Christians, I began to see why God’s word was so important to a Christian. I began to apply God’s word to my life and hide it in my heart that I might not sin against Him. I discovered that God’s word could change your life. His word had power—it was infallible, unchanging, and it would stand against anything and anybody. He began to show me that the word had the final authority. It would always have the last say so in any matter. It had the answer to any question I would have in this life. It was the solution to any problem. It could hold our mind together, hold our marriages together and hold our ministries or churches together. God’s word could hold our families together. His word could heal a wounded soul or heal a sick diseased body. These are just a few of the many things that the word of God can do if you would turn to it.
Why do I exalt the word so much? Because God said (Psalms 138:2 AMP) that "I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!" We know that there is power in the name of Jesus, so just imagine what God is telling us concerning His holy word. God’s word has held my mind together. He has given
