    Dedication

I dedicate this book to my wife Claudia, who encouraged me and supported me throughout the project.  I thank my dad Ronnie Scheffler for also encouraging me and keeping me in check scripturally.  I also appreciate the contributions of Pastor Nick Coleman in the reviewing process.  I also appreciate all of my friends who read the book and encouraged me.  Lastly and most important I thank the Holy Spirit who was at my side the entire time guiding me when I wrote this.  This book is not for my glory but His glory.  Amen.

    Introduction

I read a very good book called The Holy Spirit Himself by Charles Capps and discovered something that fascinated me.  The word faith can be a noun or a verb.  I had never thought of that before.  I always thought it was a verb only.  To me the definition of faith is to believe something without proof such as in our Christian faith and the Bible being the inspired Word of God.  The Holy Spirit would not allow me to let this go.  I realized there is something more below the surface because the Holy Spirit wanted me to write a book just on Faith and the deeper understanding.  I went to my Bible Dictionary and discovered there is a whole lot more I do not understand about a simple word faith.  I believe there is a powerful teaching in understanding faith.    Understanding faith is fundamental to understanding Christianity.  I have faith.

I recommend reading my first book to have a better understand what I go into in this book.  In my first book, I explain what baptism of the Holy Spirit and the significance of it.  I explain other things in the first book that an understanding of those will be beneficial to understanding this book.  My first book is called: Prepare For Rapture, Man’s Final Warning.  The book covers mostly fundamentals of what Christianity is and explain many terms that are referred to in this book.  The first book has information every Christian should know.  It explains first century Christianity.  Much of it was never explained in churches I was a member of but really crucial information.  The book can be ordered from Amazon or any book store around the world.

This book goes into supernatural aspects of Christianity.  I am not talking about New Age or metaphysical things.  This book goes into we as spirit beings residing in an Earth suit or natural body in relationship with an omnipresent, omnipotent God (He can be everywhere and be everything to everyone).  It all starts with faith.

    Chapter 1

    Faith Defined

Faith as defined by Merriam-Webster web site:  strong belief or trust in someone or something: belief in the existence of God: strong religious feelings or beliefs: a system of religious beliefs

1 a:  allegiance to duty or a person:  loyalty b (1):  fidelity to one's promises (2):  sincerity of intentions

2a (1):  belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2):  Belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1):  firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2):  complete trust

3:  something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially: a system of religious beliefs

    Line 2a describes verb-faith while line 3 describes noun-faith.

We need to have verb-faith in our noun-faith.  This is an action of believing (verb-faith) in what is written in our hearts or spirits (noun-faith.)

I also did a word study with Strong’s Concordance on the word for faith in the original Hebrew for the Old Testament and Greek for the New Testament.

The word for faith in the Old Testament is emun.  It means established, that is (figuratively) trusty’; also (abstractly) trustworthiness: - faith (-ful), truth.

The word translated as faith in the New Testament is pistis.  It means persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher),
