The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, David, Job, Esther and many of my personal testimonies of having live faith in God. There are two (2) kinds of faith, faith that is alive that works and faith that is only words, or assumption. In the book of James the Bible states, that faith without works is dead. We as a body of believers have gone away from the pure faith of a true and living God and have trusted only in the letter of the word. Jesus is the living word, (manifested in the flesh. The only way we can trust in him ,is by knowing him as the living word. Spending much time with him in prayer, and the word, until he reveals to us who God the father is.

Rev Doris J. Massey-Byars was born in El Dorado, Arkansas to a family of 18, 11 boys and 5 girls, one ma, and one pa. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Multi-Racial Family Study Del. Ctr.,, Author, and Inventor. She attended University of Arkansas with a major in Biology, and Spring Arbor University with a major in Family Life Education and Ministry with a minor in Psychology She was certified as a science teacher in Miami, Florida. She taught and ran a mission called the Multi-Racial Family study Development ctr for approximately 10 years. The center was designed to meet the needs of the total man, physically, socially, economically, psychologically, educationally and spiritually. The center is yet in operation in the City of Detroit. INTRODUCTION

The Author has observed, and noted, that in the past approximately four (4) decades, as she has traveled throughout the United States and some parts of the world, the body of Jesus Christ has misconstrued the word faith. (I call it the God Faith)

Many Tele-Evangelists have taught for years the way to receive from God is to name it, quote the scripture and set claims on it; I beg to differ; there are certain biblical principles that goes along with the quoting of the scripture.

There are many, many, confused Christians that took what was taught to them and applied it to their lives and nothing happened, but confusion. They put their trust in what the teacher, pastor, the preacher and evangelist taught without first forming a relationship with Jesus Christ, to find his will and purpose for their lives. Matt. 6:33 states, "seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

This book is designed to answer some of the questions concerning faith, and I hope to bring some clarity to the many unanswered questions.

Truly a woman of faith—Faith that works

Mozella Burks Massey was graced and favored by God to give birth to 16 Children, two of which became very ill. One of the children had nepherosis of the kidneys at the age of 4, and the doctors told my mother and father that there was no cure, they had done all that they could do, and the child had approximately 6 months to live. He would die if he wasn’t given a miracle.

My mother had been studying her Bible daily under a faith believing preacher, and began to believe God for small things. My mother’s faith went into action when she heard the devastating news from the doctor. She called a fast and put all of her children on a fast. She went into her secret closet daily and prayed. On a Sunday evening, she called us all to the living room and turned on one of God’s servants Broadcast who she had studied under daily. She asked my little brother to go to the television set, along with the rest of her children and place his hand on the TV, while the man of God was praying. She said, today Mike, "God is going to heal you. After the prayer was over, we didn’t see any immediate change. He was given any kind of food he wanted to eat, by my dad’s request. even the forbidden food.

That night he went to bed and the next morning he awoke with no swelling in his body. He was taken to the doctor that day. The doctor reported that he had been given a miracle. He had been made completely whole…

My oldest brother came home from the Military, he was in the army, a parachute jumper, demolition Crew. After he was home for a few days he became deathly ill. My mother asked my dad to take him to the doctor right away. His fever was so high he went into convulsions.

The doctor told my mother some dreadful news—that my brother had spinal

Meningitis, a communicable incurable disease (this took place in the 50’s). My mother called everyone home who was away in college and put us all on a fast and ask all of us to pray along with her for our brother to be healed. He started to get better, however, the doctor stated that if he lived he wouldn’t be able to hear and possibly, not be able to walk. After two weeks of prayer and fasting, we got a good report. Our brother was coming home and he came home hearing, seeing, in his right mind and walking. God gave us another miracle. Because of my mother’s faith, all of her children are yet alive and trusting in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thanks, Mother, for allowing God to use you to plant a seed of faith in my heart.

THE UNCTION IT TAKES

TO FUNCTION

God Almighty chose each one of us when he called us, and filled us with his Spirit. We are called by God to fulfill his (not our) purpose in this earth.

There is a process that God takes each of his children through in order for us to fulfill the purpose and destiny in our lives… many times after we have been born again which means of his Spirit, we still have the carnal nature residing in our souls. Many years before God saved us we formed many habits, some habits were good enough to be used for his Glory. Others had to be discarded because these habits were not beneficial to the Kingdom of God.

Romans 12:1-3 states I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world;

But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, Not to think of himself more highly that he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as "God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

The measure of faith Paul is talking about has to do with the purpose for which you were called. As you walk in that calling, after renewing your mind with studying and obeying the Word of God, the Word of God will show each one of us what the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is in our lives.
