About this ebook

In a world that is ever changing, one thing has not changed, and that's been that the Lord is still on the throne. My concerns have been great throughout the years for the church, because the power given to us by Jesus is still available-all power, he said, in heaven and the earth. Our inability to use it falls on us, because our prayer life should increase our Christian walk. We should, above all, care about the lost. The worst feeling in the world is to be lost; that's why I pray to the Lord that I am not lost. It's the very reason of salvation. We all need direction, and only the Holy Spirit can give that. Salvation is for all for all who have sinned and fallen short. The scripture that touches my heart is John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Our work is to make this message known to man-not our message but the Lord's message that all should come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The love that God gave was his only son, so in return, we should show that love to others. Remember, Jesus said, "The poor, you always have with you." Life is tough and hard and at times even disappointing, but I remember the words of our Lord Jesus who said, "Be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." The love that God expresses is for the lost, all of the lost. That's why John says God loved the world. Love beats hate hands, down, Jesus Christ showed that in his everyday walk, he showed God and did not just talk about God. The love he had for the world then and now is his Son, his only Begotten Son. People must come to the saving grace of our Lord, and he must be first in our lives-in fact, that's what I been saying all along: God first.

Scripture from the King James Version and the New King James Version.

When I first gave my heart to the Lord, it was not long after that I gave him all of me and not just part of me. My search for a God showed me that through prayer, Bible reading and Bible study, going to church regularly, and fasting, I could, with his help and direction, be a servant who would stay with the Lord, till death do us part.

Many spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ helped me find a walk that I could live with. I am truly indebted to them. My wife, LeOra, has been and still is a godly woman who has proven to be a strength in battle and a torch in the field of love and courage, both in which she has proven herself a servant of the Most High God.

    Chapter 1

God First: The Only Place Where You Can Be Content

I know there are many things in life that cause all of us to take a second look. I’m reminded of my walk with the Lord and how hard it was to stay focused on him. I wrestled with my flesh and my spirit more than I could count. I loved the Lord, but I had not fallen in love with the Lord the way I wanted to.

My first church was always a blessing to me. There is where I was convicted of my sin, and I asked the Lord into my heart, and I felt and believed I was saved and Jesus and I could live forever one day in eternity.

My hope was beginning to build, and my walk with Jesus was ever increasing. However, it was a continuous journey, and still is today. I was trying to do what Apostle Peter taught me about growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Peter was the first disciple whom Jesus called, and the first to proceed in the servanthood of the New Testament church. God would use Peter for his glory to work his will in the lives of many who would surrender. The disciple Peter would become the apostle Peter when he learned and understood Jesus was first in his life.

Should the Lord be the first in your life and you learn to die daily, you will be a great asset to the kingdom of God! And as you stay with the Lord, you too will grow in the knowledge and grace and men, women, and children will know that you put God first.

To him is the glory both now and forever amen. (2 Peter 3:18)

The more you search for Jesus, the greater your strength will become. We must learn what it means to be content, (content means to be satisfied.)

Church: when God is first in our lives, we are content.

Church: when the Lord is in our battles, we are content.

Church: when we tithe and give offerings first, only
