    Your life is already tough at so many levels. One day you face the usual ever-changing routine household situations. The next minute, you are in charge of making a life-changing financial decision, or you are left with the responsibility of leading everyone’s fate in your family. You get tangled in so many troubles, details, duties leaving little room for the essential part of your life, your health. How often you have found yourself walking out of the office after a long day of work, and suddenly it strikes you, you had skipped lunch again. It is so easy to stay too busy and get lost inside the routine; we lose direction, self-care, and self-love. You sit in front of the computer for endless hours, burning mental fuel with hundreds of ideas, decisions, and plans in your mind. Still, physically, you have not been able to burn that morning or afternoon snack that was conveniently sitting in the vending machine across your office or in the hallway. We do not take care of our bodies as we should and let them become potent to many diseases. Obesity and being overweight can cause so much harm to your body; initially only manifested like fatigue, heaviness sensation, shortness of breath with single tasks like taking a shower, tying your shoelaces, but later on, can accelerate DNA damage, which further leads to chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancers.

    Nobody reminds you how to look after yourself, and no one pushes you to become a better and healthier version of yourself. Losing weight is not only about looking good and trying to fit in your old jeans; it is directly linked to your health. The more weight you gain, the more at risk you are of developing multiple chronic illnesses.

    You have a job description for your work, but not one for your health. You don’t know where to start, and when you finally have an idea, you don’t find the perfect time to start it. This is precisely why we have this book. The main agenda is to help you realize that health matters and losing weight can be attainable by following some easy steps, even if you’re busy. This will not disrupt your time or schedule; however, it will make you successful on your weight loss journey.

    For me, this book was not written to share my opinions but rather to contribute to people who have been seriously affected by obesity and being overweight. As a family physician, I have to evaluate, screen, recognize and treat multiple disorders and diseases before the patient might have a chance to see another specialist due to time restrictions, limited scheduling, and availability of specialists due to the geographical area, and nowadays, Covid-19. At the end of the day, when I’m closing my notes and reviewing everyone’s cases, I always notice the same pattern, the most repeated diagnosis, overweight, and obesity, with its multiple classifications.

    I have taken this opportunity to take my white coat off. And talk to you directly, honestly, but no less professional way. I want to address the problem from the source, presenting it in a way that you may say is common sense. And using common sense is the best and fastest approach to tackling your weight problem. The market is saturated with so many commercial diets that you may mentally debate which is the correct one, and the answer is simple, ALL OF THEM. If taken with diligence, any approach you take in a structured way and stick to the original plan or idea will provide some results. But all of them come with a price, can
