Why It's Important for Writers to Develop Strong Boundaries
()
About this ebook
The important thing for us to realize is that boundaries are not so much about control as they are about saying yes to ourselves and our needs and no to others sometimes. As writers, we need to write a certain number of hours every week, otherwise we will feel frustrated, and we won’t complete our goals. Therefore, it’s important for us to make space for our writing.
We rarely think of creative work as an area where we need to set strong boundaries. However, this is definitely one area where we need to set boundaries, since unless we do, we won’t be writing regularly. Let’s face it, whether we like setting boundaries or not, boundaries allow us to function in the world without losing ourselves to others or to neglect our priorities. But more than that, we get to complete our goals and feel self-confident.
