I truly read this book with joy and found it hard to stop reading it from page one to the last page. The book talks about the reality of some life experiences and how diligent to tread in order not to abuse certain privileges that come our way. It also highlights how one can take advantage in dealing and relating well with people in high and reputable position.

Chief Superintendent of Police, Ghana
Inspector Ofori is an articulate, resourceful and insightful colleague of mine who qualifies to be among the category of Great people of which I connect to. When I received a soft copy of the book, my initial thought was on the influential, big and rich people in society. However, after reading further, the lessons taught me that great people could be anyone with unique way of doing things that attracts/teaches others in their lives. When I met Inspector Ofori at the African Union Missions in Somalia (AMISOM), I noticed that he is one person who is too creative and want to bring out something in every situation he finds himself. In this book, he provides great lessons on how to handle the sensitivity and feelings of those superior to us, and his shared experiences remain big lessons on how to Connect with Great People.

Preface

Roderick suggested. In 2020, I was having a conversation with a Microfinance expert and Author, Roderick Okoampa Ayeh. I lived with Roderick in the same neighborhood and we both worship with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Redemption Congregation at Pantang Junction. I will describe Roderick as one of the champions of the African Renaissance, very positive and optimistic person. Much as I could recollect on that fateful day, our conversation had shifted from several themes as was the convention whenever I spot him sitting in front of his Oak Avenue residence. I had shared with Roderick my observations about the attitude of most people who in my view, were displaying poor attitude in the presence of prospective destiny helpers. I had seen a generation unpertubed by due process and by so doing, betraying the principle of systematic progression, yet yearn for transformation. I expressed my worry about why most people do not even seem to identify the need for connecting and keeping healthy relationship with people who are socially, politically and economically powerful than they are.
During the tête-à-tête, I shared with Roderick, what in my view I thought people could do to easily connect with influential people. Roderick had equally made some observations and expressed worry about the phenomena. We both felt that average young person could achieve a lot from social networking. In his view, he felt that something could be done about it. You need to pen these ideas down in a book, the psychology of connecting with influential people
Roderick suggested! Somehow, Roderick felt I was skillful in connecting with people. He knew about my relationship with certain people and had often wondered how I managed to do this. Although the task of writing sounded uneasy at first, Roderick felt I was the best person to do this, and he urged me on. That evening, I went home thinking about it. The voice kept reechoing, The psychology of connecting with Influential people
. I began to write down some of the ideas and for months, I kept meditating on it. Finally, I conceptualized the idea and began to share with other people. Soon, my objectives were carved, and I had started writing. As a result, the book, Connecting with great people: The Speckled-Color Benefit
was birthed.

I am grateful to God for giving me the strength to write this book in spite of the numerous challenges I had to go through while on a peacekeeping mission in Somalia. Combining writing with my role as the administrative officer of the Ghana Formed Police Unit (GFPU-2) was very stressful. But in all, the Lord was gracious unto me.
I am grateful to my Contingent Commander, Chief Supt. Maxwell Antwi, Deputy Contigent Commander, DSP Mad. Felicia Amo, Operations officer, ASP Sampson Ofori, for their unflinching love, support, encouragement during my stay in Somalia, and immense contribution towards the development of this book.

Dr. Hilliard Dogbe, Bishop of Western West Episcopal District of AME-ZION, and Gabbriel King Akpalu, Executive President of SOLNetwork Africa who have played roles as mentors and coaches in my life.
