    Chapter 1: Grit, Resilience, And The Growth Mindset

    There are two types of mindsets that we can have: fixed and growth. The fixed mindset holds that your qualities are unchangeable and unalterable. Meanwhile, the growth mindset entails believing that you can cultivate your own fundamental qualities through your own efforts.

    Individuals frequently have a fixed mindset about one aspect of their lives while having a growth mindset about another. Perhaps you've always thought you were bad at math and that others were born with an innate ability to compute. You, on the other hand, are confident in your musical talent and seek opportunities to showcase it as frequently as possible. You believe it is a skill that can be honed with time and practice.

    When you demonstrate your talent and receive positive feedback, you use it to improve. You're inspired to keep practicing and honing your skills.     You become more capable of dealing with problems and overcoming adversity when you recognize that you are the only thing in life over which you have control, and when you have control over any aspect of your life, you can take action to improve your circumstances. Meanwhile, being able to accept the things you can't change without becoming frustrated, angry, or afraid allows you to be at peace with the difficult aspects of your life.
