Praising someone for success is easy, but it’s hard to give corrective feedback when things don’t go as planned. Telling someone that his/her work was unworthy typically produces adverse effects.
How do you feel when someone tells you that your work is not up to par? Believe it or not, you can build excitement in others about taking corrective action.
Our goal today, is to provide guidance that helps turn a challenging feedback session into a positive, productive dialogue. Use our COACH Model to shift the tone of a difficult conversation away from one that instills defensiveness and anger toward one that builds a supportive partnership.
