    The Various Types of Sugar

    Coca leaves have been chewed on or used to create tea for ages in their natural state. This was quite normal, and there were no problems. However, they were highly processed and transformed into cocaine, a hazardous and addictive narcotic.

    The same destiny befell the innocent poppy flower. Originally a safe and useful tea used for relaxation and pain relief, it was over-processed and turned into a potent, lethal, and addictive opioid.

    Sugar begins as sugar cane, a healthy stalking plant. You can't get enough of it in its natural state to make you sick. However, when super-concentrated and processed, it takes on the characteristics of a narcotic. In fact, sugar outperformed cocaine as the drug of choice in experimental rats. 

    It's crucial to understand that there are several sorts of sugar, some natural and some highly processed - to the point where they're no longer natural, even if they began out that way.

    •  Fructose – Don't be perplexed by the word. While fructose is sourced from fruit, it has been processed to become a highly concentrated type of sugar.
