Sugar Is The Devil - B. Patrick

    INTRODUCTION

Is sugar good or bad for you? It’s hard to say, we have been eating the lovely white stuff since we’ve been children, whether it be sugary cereals, candy, or worst of all, SODA. No one seemed to have a problem with it in the past. However, times have changed and we are seeing increased cases of obesity, diabetes, and cancer. Medical professionals and governments are now starting to link these pandemics to sugar. The food industry is also notorious for hiding sugar in their labels by just changing the names. How can they get away with this? It’s no secret that governments throughout the world are beginning to crack down on sugar. They’re passing taxes on sugary drinks and snacks, banning them from schools, and more treatment programs are becoming available to individuals who believe they’re dependent on sugar. But what exactly are the facts? Is sugar the devil?

    The Different Forms of Sugar

Coca leaves were employed for centuries in their natural state to chew on or to produce tea. This was normal and there have been no issues. But, then they were highly processed and changed into a harmful and addictive drug known as cocaine.

The innocent poppy flower suffered the same fate. Formerly a secure and effective tea, often employed for relaxation and pain, it got super-processed and became a strong, dangerous and addictive opiate.

Sugar first begins as sugar cane - a healthier stalking plant. Found in its natural form you can’t consume
