Chapter 1

Mona Smith is a woman of great wealth. Her mother died while giving birth to her, and her father died when she was in her final year of university. She inherited from her father a stock and investment company. The company was engaged in the business of investing the pooled capital of investors in financial securities, and offering investors a variety of funds and investment services. Mona also inherited from her father a 500-acre livestock farm in Pennsylvania, with a large house in the middle.

When Mona was a little girl, not yet seven years old, a gentle pony was assigned to her to ride. A boy of her age expert in horse riding whose father was the supervisor of the horse barns, trained her how to ride the pony. His training was carried out in a calm and relaxed manner which made Mona develop her skills faster and progress significantly.

The boy was of Latin origin; his name was Roberto Aguero. He had abundant black hair, his eyes were wide and very black, he was tall, broad shouldered, well built, and his face was beautiful, harmonious in proportions.

Mona's hair was long and blond, her body was of medium length, and proportional, her eyes were blue and her eyelashes were noticeably long.

Roberto hadn't received proper education, all his experience was riding horses and caring for them. Roberto couldn't concentrate on his lessons because he lacked the motivation to stay focused and concentrated on his studies. It became hard for him to pass even a single exam. He hated school and left it more than once because his classmates made fun of him and called him ‘slow’ because he couldn't comprehend the lessons he was taught.

Roberto's teachers agreed that he was shy and a little talkative. His sentences were short, as if he were afraid that he would make a mistake if he spoke. He didn't speak sentences at length unless circumstances required him to do so. However, these circumstances rarely occurred because he lived all alone, in seclusion. Solitude had always been his friend because it was the medium in which he had been raised and swam comfortably. But if there was a need to speak, his words come out explicit, expressing what is going through his mind without concealing, and in this he does not care about the feelings of the recipient, who may be hurt by the truth.

When Roberto reached the age of twenty, his father did not want him to spend the rest of his life working on the farm herding, roping and branding, so he decided to find him a job in the city. When Roberto learned of this, he refused saying that he finds himself with horses and cows and that he enjoys solitude in nature. But when he knew that the job that his father wanted for him was to join Mona's company, he immediately agreed because he will see her up close, and his enamored heart will be filled with happiness and joy.

The little boy Mona knew had evolved into the perfect Latin beauty. He had dark eyes, black hair and olive skin. His frame was tall, his upper body extended from the tucked narrow waist to his shoulders. His wide broad shoulders swayed gracefully with each step as he strode into Mona's office.

Mona welcomed Roberto warmly, as she had not seen him for twelve years. A wide smile formed on her lips; Roberto seemed to have no idea how exotic his beauty truly is. As Mona stood extending her hand to greet him, a cold shiver ran down his spine, his face blushed and he looked at his feet to avoid her searching looks.

Please take your seats She said to the father and the son. They sat on two chairs facing her desk.

Roberto you have changed a lot. You just turned into something so beautiful. She said admiring his beauty.

Thank you. He said embarrassed.

She turned to his father and said: He's quite handsome, isn't he?

This is really kind of you Miss Mona, but I was hoping that he would succeed in his studies. The father said with a sigh.

He will like it here. I want loyal people around me. I will find something suitable for him.

Come with me, she said as she took Roberto by the hand to the secretary's office. This is Charlotte, my secretary and best friend, she said, pointing to Charlotte.

Charlotte is very good at her work. You will help her answering calls, taking messages and handling correspondence. She will show you how meetings are effectively organized. You will help her prepare documents and papers for the assembled members of the board. Okay Charlotte?

Yes mam. Answered Charlotte.

Charlotte, your office is spacious and large. Set up a desk for him in the corner of the room.

Okay.

Mona looked at Roberto and said: You must abide by all the work entrusted to you. You hear me, horse trainer? She laughed merrily.

His heart melted in his chest when she called him horse trainer. She still remembers their old days. He said with a broad smile on his face: Yes mam.

Charlotte was a likable secretary and was close to Mona. Her hair was jet black plunging over her shoulders. She had a demure personality, a soothing voice, and wore vibrant clothes. Mona loved her for her honesty and sincerity at work.

Roberto loved his new job because he would be close to Mona whom he loved since childhood. In his opinion, she was the most beautiful girl in the world and she will remain his only love until his last day.

The most beautiful days of his life were when he trained her to ride the pony. Every time they meet, his heart beats in his chest, his face becomes red and his tongue stutters. Shyness holds his tongue and he cannot speak to her in a long, useful sentence. This did not embarrass her in any way, for she understood what he was saying and what he meant by his heavy words and brief signs.

He knew that his love for her had no future and that he was no match for her but it was enough for him to love her inside his soul without revealing his love to her. He never thought she would love him one day; the difference between them was enormous and the gap was so deep that it cannot be bridged. In order for his life to be agreeable, he invented in his mind a love story in which he lives with Mona in an everlasting love that had no end.

Kind people of big hearts have this sixth sense, which enables them to detect falsehood no matter how much it was hidden behind the veils of hypocrisy. Roberto had this gift of six sense which is only given to those living a natural life in the rich pure nature with horses, trees, flowers and plants. In this atmosphere, his heart remained pure, untainted by the fake deceptive civilization.

Because they have been away from each other for many years, Mona didn't know or even noticed that Roberto was so in love with her. He was too shy to show his feelings and he was also clever in hiding his love from her. He knew that her wealth and high social status would absolutely prevent her from even thinking of him. Approaching her will undoubtedly cause her embarrassment in front of her rich colleagues. It's enough for him to stay in the shadows loving her in the world he created in his imagination, to love her freely without the interference of life's inconveniences. He believed that no matter the distance, true love never ends.

He touched a silver heart chain he wore around his neck. He remembered when she gave it to him. It was the first day she went to school. And he cried a lot as he accompanied her to the school bus. She cried for his crying and wanted to calm him down. She took off a silver heart chain from her neck and put it around his neck, then kissed his cheek and got on the bus.

He did not see her much after that, he lived as a simple worker on the farm, while she completed her education until she reached the greatness that she enjoyed now.

When Mona took over after her father, she did not have enough experience to run the investment company, which was already losing clients and money. She had to use an expert known for his skill in the field. She hired David Adkins, a young stockbroker working in a financial investment and fund management firm. He was of medium stature, thin, with light brown hair.

David was known for his cleverness in the world of stock exchange and finance. Mona gave him the task of buying and selling financial products like stocks and shares in order to get the best rewards for her clients.

Mona was willing to learn. She worked with David shoulder to shoulder and learned a lot from him. He did not hide anything from her, rather he taught her many things in the world of money and finance. He taught her how to get the best financial returns by buying and selling stocks, shares and other financial products. He taught her how to manage all clients’ investments and making decisions on their behalf, and advising them about various investment options. He taught her how to keep up to date with financial markets; researching potential strategies for clients; regularly reviewing strategies to ensure maximum returns; liaising with investment analysts to find out more about potential markets and passing on instructions to traders about market prices.

The sermon he always repeated while they worked together was: To become a stockbroker, you will need to be honest and trustworthy. You'll also need to be able to adapt to fast-changing situations.

In six months, David Adkins was able to make the company stand on its feet and even attract new clients. The company made millions in profits and Mona and David became inseparable at work.

Mona admired David's dedication to work and his ability to revive the company from its slumber. With David, the company could always follow a roadmap for success. David realized that through the company's capabilities, he can also make a lot of profits for himself, so he got closer to Mona and delighted her ears with sweet talk, and showered her with feasts in fine restaurants and nights out in theatres. After five months from this success, Mona and David got married and lived together in a luxurious apartment in Pennsylvania.

The wedding was held at the big house on the farm. And of course, Roberto was one of the invitees. There were smiles on the faces and laughter ringing everywhere, but signs of sorrow covered Roberto's face. His six-sense told him that David was a bad man carrying evil and great harm in his chest. Roberto frowned because he knew that Mona was in danger with that man.

Mona was no longer his, now she belongs to another man, but he will love her in all circumstances, he will remain close to her, protecting her from the bad guys and the vices of fate.

After returning from the honey moon, Mona met Roberto at the office. He was signing some papers from her. She said: All wedding guests offered congratulations to me and David except you!

I thought you will not notice.
