In an old town in Rumania. Amadeus is in a dilemma. He is being disturbed by bizarre occurrences and mysterious intervention of bad dreams that dwell in his sleep and cause him anxiety.
Disgruntled, Amadeus and his friend, Ben make an intrepid move to crack down the origin of persisting and disturbing phenomenal occurrences in the former’s life. To resolve the mystery, they stalk on the suspected alchemist and alleged sorcerer who is no other than his friend. On their way to the wild prairie they discover the abode of their suspected mystery foe and her accomplices . As Amadeus tracks down the culprit’s hub he is trapped by the misleading and confusing path that finally leads him to a close encounter.

Introduction

Progress in modern civilization is incessant as man ’s knowledge increases specifically in science and technology continues to grow at a tremendous pace. However, there are still many things in this world that have become myths and could hardly be explained by men and the amazing wonders of science. These unexplained things are most often than not are abandoned and forgotten as time flies by.  Hence, the traces of popular myths of places and figures of the past events have been encrypted in the minds of many as an impression is alive and remembered to this day.

Chapter 1

The Family Background and Beginning

Family & Friends

It was  9 o’clock in the evening in Belefalva, an old county in Rumaenia.  Life here was peaceful and pleasant to live in. The tranquil life of the residents began as early as 5:30 (Five thirty) in the afternoon and no person could be seen loitering around except those coming home from their day’s toil. The following day rush hour started at 4:00 (Four)o’clock in the morning as workers and  waited for an hour or more for the transportation plying to nearby towns and cities.

The flickering post lamps that called for more hovering leeches illuminated the pathways of passersby and only the noise of cicadas could be heard in the surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, a gold-brown sedan stopped in front of an old semi-concrete two-story house and just in front of the gate a shabby-looking man in his crinkled-tucked out polo and crumpled trousers went off the car. 

He would almost step on his own shoes when he extended both legs out of the car.  He walked awkwardly as a drunkard did and no wonder he used to be drunk.

  See you tomorrow, Dude !   his friend said.

Amadeus ( known also as Dude) with hollowed face and murky eyes made him looked far from his youthful age, is an eccentric but compassionate individual which loved ones like him most for being a true person.

In their normal way of life,  his 64-year-old mother would reprimand him for his unwanted habits, while his 68-year old paralyzed father whose fingers and callous hands forbade him to hold anything steadily had been on the wheel-chair for years as he remained speechless as a result of a debilitating stroke, hence whenever an atmosphere of conflict would spark a heated discussion he couldn’t even utter a word but merely a facial gesture that grimaced his reaction.  He had not been so well since his last stroke but in normal condition did he forget the consequences of his lifestyle.

Nancy, Amadeus’s  28-year old sister was still single and living with them but most of the time out of town for her job commitments. Loving and thoughtful like her Mom she would never forget her priorities when going on a remote trip, hence, the love of the family since she was a unica hija, who needed much care and attention specially on her absence for a far away trip.  She was sensed by her colleagues to have been frequented by a man in her office lately, thus it came to the knowledge of her family and later on confirmed to be true. 

She loved an open communication among the members of the family particularly her paralytic father who needed consolation in his distressful condition.  Likewise, her Mom who was always on her father’s side most of the time needed much more attention as she had been feeling some abnormalities caused by her early physical activities.

Red, still unmarried and the eldest among the three was 45 years old fulfilled merchant of his age.  He was the bread winner and supporter in all aspects of family expenditures, but they did not want him to stay alone for life.  He was being groomed to choose for the most ideal lady in town but he it seemed he was so choosy that he shunned them all. And according to him, " It will come when the time is ripe for him".

Red owned a beautiful and ideal house in one of the most expensive villages in Belefalva which he lived but most of the time left vacant because he still stayed and enjoyed living in their ancestral house.  He also owned a model sedan car and other unconfirmed and confidential shares of stocks in big companies in which he was one of the members of the board.

And because of his opulence and popularity young ladies in the said organization who knew about his prominence would even make some concealed expression of intent or feelers to go on dating with him; which Red would grant at time but none of them captured his heart for a serious relationship.

Red and Sophia

Meanwhile, in a countryside of Arad, Buscony a team of men and women gathered for a banquet in a business-like meeting and the focal issue was meeting Red and company in person.

They could be our potential market for our aromatic and tantalizing perfume and whoever smells this will be mesmerized that they could hardly resist this best offer for them and their colleagues. Therefore, our goal is fulfilled, power and money ! Sophia told them.

Yes, Power and Money ! Everybody clamored.

Likewise, meet this prominent businessman named, Red.  He is the elder brother of Amadeus, the man you’ve been stalking for me. He is the most available and qualified bachelor in town. Rachel  suggested.

I’ve seen him with Amadeus in one occasion and I heard about him. I hope to convince him but he looks like evasive. Sophia hissed.

Nothing is impossible with your stuff. What is your stuff for when you can’t win him. Just do it Rachel whispered.

In one business club’s meeting, Sophia in her glamourous appearance appeared before Red among his business colleagues. In her charming and sweet smile she momentarily glanced at Red as she slowly approached her prompting his colleagues to give way.  She caught his attention and stared at her as her fragrant sweet smell apparently evaporated until it reaches his deep breath.

Have I seen you before? He smiled as he asked her.

I believe this is the first time, but you look so familiar to me Sophia replied.

" Yes, I have been attending business meetings in various regions as I am also a member of a local business club in Belefalva. " He replied.

I ‘ve never seen you before.  Your first time in this area?

Yes. I am business representative of a perfumery company and promoting our products.  We are glad to have attended various business meetings such as this as we can offer our products She added.

Is it the sweet fragrant smell? He asked with curiosity.

Wow. My first time to smell that sweet scent. My loved ones and colleagues might love that fragrance.

I will showcase our variety of perfume products in fashionable bottles. I am sure they will love them. She said.

I am pretty sure me and my colleagues will like it.  Red replied.

Since then, Red and Sophia became friends as he also favoured her business endeavour.  Literally, Red was tantalized by Sophia’s sweet scent and talks that he could hardly resist her charm that sticked to his mind.  As things prospered with their relationship Sophia confessed that she was a single Mom of two.

My best friend who is closed to my heart, Red. She introduced to her daughter, Catherine, and ten-year old son, Barry.  The two just looked and shyly smiled at Red.

Impliedly as time went by, the frequent they saw each other the more they got intimately closer until the relationship had ripened into an expressly lived-in relationship. However, their story was kept hidden and evasive from Red’s family which he could never confess because of the cardinal rule of the family not to marry nor establish any relationship with a carnal woman, or he would get repudiated.  The rest of their love affair was a progressing history.

Amadeus’ weakness was hard and intoxicating wines that very often habitual indulgence  would fail him to stay long in the job that he would eventually lose or quit due to pressure.  Again, reiterating words of accusation would break the silence of the home.

You’ll not get early tomorrow  ‘coz of your awful scent,  or you’ll get fired again!

Don’t worry.  I will make it early today He would promised.

Amadeus in his early 30’s was fickle-minded and emotionally unstable but in fairness, he was an extrovert.  His girl named, Sarah, a pretty and mature –minded maiden in her tender age was one year younger than he wanted to settle down for good.  However, his negative attitude and misconduct were bleakly contributory obstacles in his failures.  But the lighter side of him was that he was one –woman man. It looked like his girl was so insecure with other girls around when they initiated an amiable conversation but never did she raise an issue about it and yet she would remain civil and understanding, likewise she was hopeful that he would change for the better. 

In other words, she had accepted what he was.  The lighter side of her was being responsible and decent.  In most bonding situation, the girl would find leeway for a personal issue. 

We ’re not getting any younger. Do we have to wait  to chase our time? Sarah asked.

No. It’s not that easy.  We have to be prepared before we get into trouble.  I believe that you know that my finances are just one of my problems.   he replied.

You’ll never be financially prepared unless a  miracle works in you. It’s up to you.  We’ll never know what lies ahead

  Give me enough time to save some money. 

You will never save some money because of your peers and wines

No. Believe me I am saving some for our future .

"Really?  How can I be sure?

I will show you my bank account later

Promise?  Why don’t you borrow some money from your brother?  Anyway, he’s rich and  single. She insinuated.
