I’M ALL for a simple solution to make life better. Life is complicated enough, so solutions to problems shouldn’t be unnecessarily tricky. I was thinking this again when I read our feature this week on 20 easy ways to transform your life (page 38).
Buying a plant is one of them and I can attest to the transformative properties of walking through a nursery, looking at the marvellous living things to be found there. For years I used to kill plants no matter how I tried to keep them alive, but sometime in the past few years they not only survived – they started to thrive.
Now it feels like there’s something magical happening between me and them. I’ve learnt to know their quirks and when to fuss or leave alone. I’ve gotten better at determining when they need watering and when I’m giving too much. It’s such a simple
