Dedication
I would like to thank all of my family and friends, past and present. They have given me inspiration to write. To all those that have been a part of this journey. For every experience that we had together and for all the support, opportunities and love that has helped me to keep moving forward.
For my dad, who always had a pen and note pad in his pocket! Thank you for sharing your love of writing poetry with me. This one’s for you.
To my angels that protect and guide me towards my destiny. Thanks for always having had faith in me: Parminder ‘Trigger’ Claire and Winsome J Steele.

As we lay under a dim light,
and held each other so tight.
But you told me sweet pretty lies,
That I never saw when lost in your eyes,
It seems you knew how to get your way,
Whilst I didn’t see I was being betrayed.
So, as you held me in your arms,

As you have accepted my heart, with nothing in return,
What would I have, should you depart?
But yet you fail to realise,
