Book Iii: Poems Lyrics and Verses
()
About this ebook
This is a book of poems, lyrics and verses, about love, tragedy and an array of diverse stories, for your enjoyment. I hope to put a smile, a tear, or maybe just make you ponder. To be able to lose yourself in a thought for hours is priceless, especially when there is nothing but time. Life is so hectic in this crazy world we live in now; it is refreshing to be able to sit down for a few hours and let your mind roam. You will be surprised how your imagination can inspire you. Thank you for the most precious thing of all, time, without time you have nothing.
John R Connelly
John Connelly is a person that lived life to the fullest. He has been on top and when you are on top, there is only one place to go, and that is down. Only through suffering can the soul and spirit be strengthened. Your true character is revealed when you are on the bottom, not when you are on the top. Poetry was discovered by John when he was at a low point in his life, but poetry has stayed with him while he worked his way back to the top.

About the Author
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
To be able to lose yourself in a thought for hours is priceless, especially when there is nothing but time. In this hectic world of quarantines and then reemerging, as they try to force us into this new realm, as much as they try to stop us, and hold us back, life moves on with us or without us; I hope this book can bequeath a little relief, God knows we can use it.
DEDICATION
There is one person that truly made this book possible, but more than just this book, he made my comeback from the abyss a reality, with a handshake and his word. Michael made my dreams come true for me and my family. For more than a decade his word is as solid as it was the first day we met. Michael is a modern-day knight in shining armor. He is an old school soul in a young man’s body. Michael is truly beyond compare. I want to thank you, the man, the myth, the legend, with all of my heart. My family thanks you, and I thank you again for all that you do. I am here until the end for you, wherever it takes us. God bless you and your family my dear friend Michael A Capasso, a true modern-day knight in shining armor. You provide unlimited opportunity for everyone around you, it’s a honor to call you my friend.
I would also like to thank the people that gave me the most precious gift of all, time. My parents John and Kathy Connelly for their endless inspiration and encouragement. My children John, Heather and Jake for giving me all the motivation to keep my spirits up and my pen on the paper. I would also like to thank Sarah Connelly for all her countless hours with our little prince John R Connelly the Fourth, you inspire me. Sarah thank you for all the memories, your devotion is a true blessing. For the few names in the book, I would like to thank you for the good the bad and the ugly, and the people that are not named you know who you are, thank you for the memories, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. Victoria my angel that watches over me from heaven, my true one and only.
QUOTES
Remember.
Tough guys don’t squeal, take a knee, or run and hide
On these pages are some of my favorite poems. I hope
to put a smile on your face, evoke a tear, or maybe
just make you ponder. I hope you enjoy them.
LOVE POEMS
STALWART KNIGHT
I was about to give up hope,
Lliterally at the end of my rope.
Then from afar a lady appears,
Patiently waiting all these years.
A special feeling, I have to admit,
Her calming peace a perfect fit.
I gaze into her beautiful eyes;
My stomach fills with butterflies.
Loving, caring, tender, and sweet,
How she makes me feel complete.
Young and happy like a youthful child,
While making my imagination run wild.
At this crossroad, our hearts to mend.
I don’t know how this story will end.
But now she shines like the stars above.
In her light I feel the peace and love.
Instantly, our future appears so bright.
I will be her true stalwart knight.
ROCK OF GIBRALTAR
My love, how you make me feel
With a verse I do reveal.
My love, you send a chill down my spine.
With a look you make me feel divine.
My love catches me when I fall;
Just a smile, no words at all.
My love warms me when I am cold.
Our new life can now unfold.
My love, how you laugh from your heart.
You are a precious work of art.
My love, you are the air that I need.
Together we can only succeed.
My love prefers to give than receive.
You gave me a reason
