About this ebook
One of the most precious and priceless gifts in the world is the heart of a woman. A beautiful kaleidoscope of raw emotions, experiences, and memories, a womans heart knows no boundaries or limitations regarding her cherished and sacred love.
Whether old, young, rich, poor, black, or whitewe have all craved love from another. We are ordinary women-but possess extraordinary love. At one period in time, we each have loved, whether or not love actually decided to pay us a visit, stay around for a while, or unselfishly love us back. It may not always reciprocate or manifest itself how we desire. Sometimes it may be followed by hurt, disappointment, loss or death, but we still keep on loving
When permitted to give wholly and freely, a womans satiable heart is unadulterated and her love is both timeless and unconditional Her love is naked and pure resilient and determinedpatient and forgiving...
In the quest to find her destiny, every woman will inevitably experience powerful and unpredictable seasons on her journey called Life, as love etches indelible lines of poetry across her impressionable heart. I invite you to enter into my heart and share my poetry from the seasons of my life.

Introduction
Over the course of several years, I have compiled poems that I wrote throughout the seasons of my life. Since I was a young girl, poetry has always been the refuge for my impressionable heart. It has always been the place where I could retreat, recover and recuperate until my healing came. Some of these poems speak directly from my heart, voicing the hurt, joy, sorrow, passion and love that I have experienced. Other poems express the emotions and feelings of some of those who have been close to me, but did not have the voice to speak-so in these poems, I have spoken for them.
May you too find your voice.
Blue - The Color of My Love
Blue…
Blue was the only color
that I ever knew
Blue was the color
of the sky
on the last day that I
ever saw you.
Blue, with clouds of gray
as the thunder smothered
the cries of my heart
and the tide washed it away.
Blue was the color
of the flash of lightening
that struck my soul,
and set it on fire.
Jazz and old memories
playing on my record player
those late nights
when I’m all alone
they’re all blue too.
And as I sit and cry and moan
with Ethel,
Bessie cries my heart out too
and Billie and I sit and glare
out the window praying
for better days…
My love, once so ravishingly red
with burning passion and desire,
now rests in shades and hints of gray,
black and blue, for I
am beginning to tire.
But tomorrow
when I awaken
like forever and yesterday,
the sky, like my love for you,
will always be blue and never
Fade
Away…
The Sun Is Shining
The sun is shining
The moon is forgiving
It’s time now
To begin living…
There’s pearls in the sky
of white clouds
And diamonds can be found
in the bottom of the ocean.
Rivers endlessly flow and run
like dreams at midnight.
When I look into your eyes
over breakfast at dawn
They make me melt
and the sun
sets in winter…
Winter with palm trees
coconuts, and girls
in grass skirts
Hips swaying from side to side
rhythmically to the beat
of conga drums,
hands clapping, and the sounds
of little feet.
My hammock blows
gently in the wind
with the melodic sound
of wind chimes
tinkling over my head
and I roll over
and I look at you
There’s diamonds in your smile
and rays of sunlight in your hair.
The sun is setting…
I am forgiving
I caught a diamond in my hand
It’s time to start living…
32 (Coming into Womanhood)
With just the simple flick of my wrist
Casual fling of my hair
Hand on one
